🕑 Added 2024-05-27 13:00:11 +0000 UTCHere's an update of sorts for long-burbling fantasy project The Last Party, as this weekend I cranked out a photoreferenced sketch of the group's three ladies in a swimsuit-y situation. I ran outta both worktime and patience with rendering the Half-Elf's time-consuming hair, so I pulled the plug at the point seen below:
I was trying to differentiate their physiques and body types here, even though the chicas in the photoref were fairly identical. Didn't quite show the Mage as lean and ripped as she's supposed to be, but their relative scales worked out okay.

A few months ago, I tried working on that Last Party sample page rough from last year in iOS CSP (with the Design Pencil tool), but lost interest quickly:

I am, TBH, beginning to wonder if I'll be able to draw this g-d project (or any other fantasy comic, really) at all, given how much trouble I'm having with these sample pages. The complete loss of interest I experience when trying to produce finished sample artwork seems unpromising, to put it mildly.
NEXT TIME ON THIS HERE PATREON: No idea, TBH, but something should be coming up in the next M/W/F slot. Let's find out together, shall we?

Fair- we are all our own worst critics, are we not? Plus that aching reminder from your hand is not becoming less persistent, I'd wager.

On, no, the issue is ENTIRELY about generating interest from the often mercurial Artist Me, which is far and away the biggest problem facing any major project I'm contemplating. (I was hoping to quit drawing comics entirely 25-odd years ago after the last DP miniseries, so this ain't exactly a new problem for me.)

I agree with Sabrina’s sentiment. Maybe it would be good to just focus in again on Party of Two? Reducing the scope should also reduce the workload. Regardless, all I know is I need more of that adorable half-orc in my life!

You mean interest from us or you? I can't speak for everyone, but I am psyched to see this project come together. As it seems to be a conglomerate of a few concepts you have shown us here, I am a little unclear as to what shape it will take or stories will be told, so it's hard to generate enthusiasm over an unknown. I liked the dwarf and the half-orc's stories, but we don't have a lot of context for the others, so that might be why we're quieter about them? Just my 2 cents, because I know putting work out there to silence is deafening.
