TF Commando

Whoops, missed the request for a preference. Collectively Unconscious is the most action-packed one, in typical Dirty Pair fashion, but You Can't Stop Kei would be fun for seeing them sit around the house, as it were, getting a look at their downtime and what the world of 2141 is like when things aren't about to blow up.

Yes! I remember a bar scene where Logan is talking to her about a fight Psylock had with Pyro (I think..), cut to the end of the scene and it turns out he is alone and she isn’t really there (she was dead by this point). I do remember going through X-Men: Ronin blacking out the blood and cigars. Someone said Joe Q pass down this rule because his mom died from lung cancer… but I never verified this.

Strypgia

The Obsessed Suit funniest ending might be them containing it, wiping out the malignant virus, and leaving Yuri with a obedient puppy of a smartsuit that is too annoyingly handy to really just delete. :V I think the Collective Unconscious would make the best overall one to see illustrated, with the series-obligatory 'The LA complete their mission but leave utter destruction in their wake' and plenty of action. 'You Can't Stop Kei' gives a lot more opportunity for relatively low-stakes 'slice of life' shenanigans for the Lovely Angels, that rarely get screen time, though.

In fact, pretty sure I wrote that story; a Psylocke dealie, IIRC. Has the dubious honor of being the first Marvel story impacted by their ban on depictions of smoking; a bunch of Wolverine POV shots gesturing with a cigar had to be fixed by you guys!

Looking at the head shots of Yuri, I would love to see an X-23 comic illustrated by you!

Benjamin Hunzeker

These are awesome to see.

Ha! I got to color some of Rick’s pages when I was working for Guru eFX in…. Oh god…. 2004ish…. He was penciling X-Men at the time.

Greg

Dirty Pair is one of my fave things you ever did, the story where Lily (I think, she the dark haired one correct?) go kidnapped by that dude is still magic to me.

Thos. Merchant

I'm most intrigued by "Collectively Unconscious".

Devan Muse

Maybe. I never read that one, sadly

Dean Reilly

Didn't 'Fatal But Not Serious' touch on the same issues anyway?

Adam Warren

Whoops, EDITED: Ryan Kinnaird did the coloring on these pieces.

KranberriJam

I do agree, "YOU CAN’T STOP KEI" but version A sounds more fun to me.

Jude Deluca

Wait, who was the other collaborator? You mention Rick's name twice and then someone named Ryan.

TF Commando

There aren't a lot of sci-fi comics that touch on this sort of transhumanist themes and you're very enthusiastic about them. Any chance you could find an artist and do them with some "Rose and Lil'" stand-ins? There have been a number of DP-like pairs in comics already, so I don't think there'd be a legal issue.

Devan Muse

I second the possibility of turning the "You can't stop Kei" story into an actual comic... but only the A version. Having Kei actually die and be cloned presents a whole mess of existential questions that will bog down the whimsy of Yuri having to raise her partner up through childhood.
