WORK STAGES on cover illo for Emily Warren's EMPOWERED: TEN QUESTIONS FOR THE MAIDMAN one-shot!
🕑 Added 2022-06-06 13:00:06 +0000 UTCBehold, the Work Stages on the cover illo for 2011's one-shot Empowered: Ten Questions for the Maidman, featuring luxurious art and colors by the issue's special Guest Artist Emily Warren (no relation) and a spot of inked line art on the Emp figure at left by me.
The white doily patterns overlaying the illo still crack me up to end, gotta say, even eleven years afterward. An awesome illo by Emily, no question! (Rolling my eyes at that gigantic white box for the g-d UPC code, though; the much preferable narrower, lower-profile UPC code boxes were still years away from being used at Dark Horse.)
UPDATE: Just noticed that the exposed diamond shapes on the hilt of Ninjette's katana look a bit like ellipses at first glance, so the subtitle seems to read "Ten Questions for the Maidman..."
NEXT TIME ON THIS HERE PATREON: Not quite sure what's coming up Wednesday, but very likely you'll either see something in the Distressed Damsels vein for the $5+ Patron tiers or a new Life Drawing post open to all Patrons.

I don't think it would be churlish to ask that but, no, you're not likely to see any follow-ups (or follows-up?) on those hints anytime soon.

I did not realise it's been eleven years since this. Would it be churlish to ask if follow ups to the hints of the Maidman's secret origin from this can be expected relatively soonish?

This was one of my favorites. You usually choose good artists for the 'additional' books, but this one really stands out!
