2005's videogame-magazine Xmas "STEALTH ELF", pt.3!
🕑 Added 2021-12-24 14:00:06 +0000 UTCFollowing up on last week's post, here's the rest of the 2005 Christmas feature I worked on for the videogame magazine GamePro, where former PSM art director (and designer of the Empowered logo!) Eugene Wang brought me on board to provide wacky illustrations for an article about giftgiving options for gamers.
The star of the piece was Santa's "Stealth Elf" (or "Stelf"? "Stealf"?), a tacticool cutie loosely homaging Metal Gear Solid's Solid Snake. Today. we're seeing the semi-sequential main illo of the article, with the piece's fine colors provided by the talented lads of the coloring studio Guru eFX; in reverse work-stage order are the pencils for the piece, along with my first two roughs for it.
Merrrrrry Christmas, folks!
NOTE: As I'm scheduling this post on Monday the 20th, I'm hoping to have enough time to dig up my lone comp copy of the magazine and scan it before this puppy goes live, but may not succeed in that ambition. In that case, I'll post the published version at some point further on down the liner, okay?
NEXT WEEK ON THIS HERE PATREON: Unknown at this time, TBH, but something will be going up on all five weekdays of 2021's final week as my post-Xmas gift to you, dear Patrons. (Plus, well, I need all five days to cram in all the scheduled Distressed Damsels content for the $5+ tiers, Unnamed Robot Comic, Life Drawings, Monthly Exclusive Content for the $10 & $20 tiers, and so on.)

It's been fun seeing these posts, I'd never caught them back in the day. Thanks for setting these up, and hope you have a very calm and relaxing Christmas! :)

No significance, though it is odd that the names changed; I'd probably forgotten what name I used on the previous draft.

Interesting! The name on the stocking changed three times. Any significance to any of them? And Merry Christmas, sir!
