DISTRESSED DAMSELS: Rose & Lily vs. linen-finish cardstock, pt.2!

Behold, more of a comic-format oddity from the year 2000 or so, folks, as I recently unearthed what is probably a "dual-purpose" or "double-dipping" commissioned comic featuring Dirty Pair's Kei and Y--nay, Rose & Lily once again bedamseled all too easily, presumably in a nonsensical sim of some sort.
The "dual purpose" bit, here, is that I was probably doing this short story in part as a test for drawing comics on the linen-finish cardstock that I had been using for my more pin-uppy con sketches throughout the 90s. I did wind up doing a few brief comic sequences via this medium in Dirty Pair and Gen13, but eventually soured on the technique and never revisited it at any great length.
A few words:
Pretty sure this is the only DiD commission I ever did that featured a g-d nine-panel comic-page grid, folks. (That would've been for art-technique testing purposes, not as an art req or the like.) And I'm pretty sure I would never have had Lily stammering in her own thought balloons in a real comic intended for publication; bit of a note of (unintended) pathos inherent to the poor damsel pleading with a g-d knot in panel 7, BTW.
Panel 3: I think the blonde fella had his design reused in the later Yu--nay, Lily vs. Paste-Pot Pete DiD story. (Alas, no time to dig up as link on that.) Gotta say that, even though most of this commission is waaaay the hell far afield from my canonical iteration of Dirty Pair, this one wacky scene is definitely on point with my particular view of the Angels' characters.
(If I had time, I might've popped in a dialogue patch for "Rose" in place of "Kei" on this page, but I obvsly didn't have the time. In fact, I don't really have the time to write this bit of text!)
Panel 3's interesting, non-literal flourish of showing Lily's face in close-up at the top of the page is a pretty neat storytelling riff, must admit. Might well try working that into Empowered sometime!
NEXT TIME ON ROSE & LILY: Escape artistry and a brief fight scene ensue as plucky Lily attempts to rescue her bedamseled partner. Golly!

Looks like Rose shares Kei's dubious taste in men. Also, I wonder if Studio Proteus has anything to do with these sims, seeing as they were the publishers of Buxom Babes; switchover to using Rose and Lily could be a desire to dodge the 3WA suing them again.

The finish looks great, though. These decoy Lovely Angels' outfits are certainly attention-grabbing. Booty shorts with built-in garters and stockings, barely-there tops, woof! Good job distracting your partner and letting the bad guy ambush her, Lily.
