Life drawings from photoreference: high-res scans #125
🕑 Added 2021-10-06 13:01:05 +0000 UTCOnce again, I'm doubling up with this week's sets of life drawings from random photoref. First above is a shading-oriented collection from November 2017, along with a sketchier, more gesture-focused set from May 2017.
Note that we've (rather a while ago) crossed an important threshold with these Monday posts—both sketch sets are dated from 2017, meaning that the end of my once-formidable buffer of life drawings is in sight, if still rather a long ways off, as I cranked out life drawings almost daily through that year. So, folks, I might need to switch to single-set posts at some point later on in 2021 or early 2022. Gasp!
Below, enjoy the higher-res, raw and untweaked grayscale scans as PSD attachments.
NEXT TIME ON THIS HERE PATREON: Who knows what might go up next? At the moment, not even me, thanks to the semi-randomized "M/W/F+" posting schedule! Golly!

They may not be as loaded with story details as Empowered or NotLiveWires posts, but they're still interesting to see. Empowered alone was a bit of a shock when I first read it, getting used to B&W manga-look in a US 'superhero comic'. So seeing what you can do with rough lead here, and experiments with light, posture, and technique? Still a good insight.

Hey, thanks for the comment, as these life drawing sets get a lot less feedback than other posts (for obvious reasons).

Some really cool lighting and texture to the center 'athlete' pic on pg1.
