ROSE STANDS ALONE, pt.4: Spicier than I remembered!
🕑 Added 2021-09-13 13:11:12 +0000 UTCFollowing up on our previous installment, you Bigger Spenders of the $5+ tiers can now enjoy the narrative's continuation and abrupt conclusion as this incomplete commissioned story from the early 2000s jumps forward a few pages to Dirty Pair's Kei-- no, Rose briefly escaping captivity in an Unnamed Big Bad Guy's sprawling HQ. (Alas, couldn't get scans of the intervening pages between this scene and the previous one.)
Anyhoo, in the missing pages, the distress-prone but still often badass Rose had flattened a bunch of her Masked Flunky captors, freed herself from herself from her bonds, then fled into the enemy facility in a bid to avoid winding up in the Big Bad Guy's harem-- only, as we rejoin the narrative, to find herself grabbed and dragged off into the seraglio by the harem's girls.
Ah, but they're doing this for Rose's own good, you see, by disguising her as a different harem girl before the alerted HQ's guards search the area, in plot twist not at all contrived for maximum cheesecakery.
Speaking of cheesecake, gotta say that I'd forgotten that this scene was one of very, very few commissions I've ever done that featured actual nudity, as I didn't do that very often back then, nor do I nowadays. (Not to mention some definite Inappropriate Touching of our heroine, albeit theoretically done in the cause of disguising her as just another harem member.) Can't recall exactly what the higher level of spiciness was about, though I no doubt charged extra for it.
To cut & paste from the previous posts: Anyhoo, at some point in the early 2000s when I was long on free time and short on paying comics work, a generous friend of mine wanted some "DiD" content featuring Kei-- no, Rose. Originally I was going to crank out some pin-ups, but instead I decided to do some sketchy layout pages in what proved to be an early version of the later Empowered comic format.
Wellp, like most but not quite all of these proto-Empowered DiD comic commissions, the story of Rose, the harem girls & Masked Flunkies abruptly halted after other work intervened. In fact, you can guess exactly what that "other work" might've been by noting the presence of a chirpy blonde harem girl who's clearly a prototype version of Social Butterfly from Marvel's Livewires. Yeahp, must've wrapped this story up right before I started writing and laying out that 2004 miniseries; speaking of which, I'll be posting my layouts from issue #2 of Livewires later in the month.
NEXT TIME ON THIS HERE PATREON: The somewhat randomized "M/W/F+" posting schedule rolls on, so who knows what the next post might be?

Another delightful update, with so many proto-Emp elements abound. From the accent to the blond jokes -- the same unwritten rules aren't here to benefit Rose here though -- but she looks all kinds of cute putting up with this nonsense!

I'd be nervous in Rose's position; I wouldn't put it past the harem-keeping sort to have "his" girls loyalty-modded in some fashion, whether it be drugs or implanted triggers or neurosoftware or what have you; I suspect something fishy might be going on.

Ya know, come to think of it, I do have a buddy that's spinning up a neuromorphic computing hypercluster (heck, the parent organization even has a name that sort of works as a bondage pun) and owes me a big favor. I might see if I can't get Adam uploaded before his drawing hand finally turns into pudding. Of course, if I was doing that, I'd probably keep the simulation apparently "real world" in order to keep ol' Warren-Sama stable and just rely on temporal asynchrony to maintain output, so for all I know Me-Prime already made the necessary arrangements and we're just NPCs here to keep Sim-Adam motivated.

Thanks for sharing this! Everytime I see these Rose/Lily pages I really wish they had their own series. Not at the expense of Empowered production of course, but it makes me long for the future where an uploaded Adam Warren's output is only constrained by his processor count. :-)

"You're a blonde now. My condolences." made me laugh way too much. And aww, this is the end of this storyline? I want to see where this went. The haremettes are helping disguise Rose because... escape attempt for them all? Sleeper cell to strike at the Big Bad? They want Rose to escape and get a message out? For all the justified fan-service, it (as so happily often in your works) can lead right to serious plot stuff that can get quite non-jokey, like with several points of Empowered.
