DESIGN TUESDAY: Some very Shirow-y 2013 suit sketches
🕑 Added 2021-03-30 13:01:01 +0000 UTCBehold, my early design sketches for a deliberately Shirow-Masamune-reminiscent armored suit worn by Domino in a 2013 10-page story I wrote and drew for issue #10 of the Avengers/ X-Men crossover anthology A+X.
As I'd not drawn anything along these lines in many years, I wanted to suit up Domino akin to Deunan in Shirow's Appleseed vol.4 (and the often overlooked Appleseed Databook short story), which was hugely influential to my artwork in the early 90s. (I believe I might have consulted one or more of the Intron Depot artbooks as well.)
TOMORROW ON THESE HERE PATREON: Some kind of "damsel in distress" content for the $5 Patron tiers, though exactly what said content might be is unknown at this time.

For some reason one stuck in my head on examining the full cover version was "How does she have two full holsters on her right side and a pistol in her right hand?" Cross-draw, I guess?

Cool! I love this story! I'm also interested in the coloring on the final page which features awesome effects for Wanda's magic and real (?) clouds. (If you have time to comment on the color stage...)
