EMPOWERED vol.12's "Scary, Badass, Violent Emp" first-draft pages!
🕑 Added 2021-02-11 13:33:44 +0000 UTCMore from Empowered vol.12 today, folks! Above is the second page from a scene featuring the Emp iteration I've dubbed "Scary, Badass, Violent Emp," for reasons that will become obvious in successive pages.
Haven't corrected or done white-line overlays for the Emp intro page above, so consider that a work-in-progress preview. However, can't say the same for the next page...
...as I stalled out on drawing said page this week; after struggling to finish it, I scrapped the page and am now working on a thematically similar but otherwise quite different approach, one that should be more appealing to me as an artist (I hope).
Long-time Empowered readers should be able to guess that these hapless schmos were being puppeted by more iterations of the parasitizing "smart gun" from the one-shot Empowered: Pow Pew Pew! Alas, I couldn't muster any enthusiasm for drawing either tacticool-garbed schmos or high-tech-y guns for another 7-8 pages, so now I'm going back to the drawing board for something more "Nirasawa-ish," if you will.

Two thoughts here... First, I suspect these poor sods are going to experience a thrashing usually reserved for the villains in a latter-day Frank Miller comic. (Or maybe that moment in Batman Returns when he straight up murders a guy by shoving a bomb in his pants and throwing him off a ledge.) Two, extrapolating from that... I'm guessing her version of Thugboy got his death wish. By her hands.
