VINTAGE(-ish) CON SKETCHES: Two Power pieces & a Monika!
🕑 Added 2021-01-15 14:01:04 +0000 UTCWellp, back to plowing through the remaining pieces in my old CON SKETCHES folder! With these pieces, we're hitting up more of the illos listed under the letters P and R.
A few words:
Weird thing is, I actually like most of the art elements in this 2006 Power Girl piece, but still wince at how badly I botched the interfacing twist between her lower and upper torso. A tricky pose to pull off, folks (which I obvsly didn't)!
Whoops, should've cropped this image off, but what the hell. A wedding commission, in fact! The characters are, per the file labeling, Powerlifter & Solas. Happy anniversary, you crazy kids!
This is a younger version of Red Monika from Joe Mad's Battle Chasers, for which I wrote & drew a pair of backup stories. Forgot to sign the piece, you'll note; whoops!

Re: Power Girl... I wouldn't sweat the torso. I could name a supposed "master" of comic art that was at least as wonky as that on a regular basis.
