Here's an Xmas-themed illo inspired by an amusing December art request from the $20 Patron tier, along with jpegs of selected work stages. (The idea being that nasty ol' Krampus carries off naughty kids around Christmas; Emp's a good 15 years too old for this scenario, but the old goat presumably made an exception.)
Note that I had to flop (reverse) the initial rough to fit the additional panels in the upper right corner.
Used this illo as a test for lowlight scenes in Empowered vol.12. Alas, turns out that the toned paper I used here works well with inks, but does NOT work well at all with just pencils. (Oh, well.)

A hilarious bit of holiday shenaniganry, Emp's grump expressions are too fun as she ponders what forces led her to THIS situation. Thanks for having so much fun with this idea, and I hope you're getting a nice holiday break here between projects too!

It looks absolutely fantastic! So many lovely details to enjoy in this scenario: the dialogue is hilarious with Emp's protests to such unfair treatment (and then her epiphany about what may count as naughtiness), a fun position with her adorable stinging behind stuffed into Krampus' all too tiny basket, and great work on Krampus' design along with Emp. I don't think anyone could blame him for fudging the naughty/nice guidelines when it comes to a superchica as fun to kidnap and punish as Emp. Probably just making sure her exceptionally swattable bottom learns its lesson (whatever that is) for next year :) Thank you again for taking this request, I'm so happy to see such a detailed and colorful sketch and I loved seeing the extra steps taken in drawing it out too. Hope you have a very Merry Christmas Adam! (And Emp too, after this.)
