VINTAGE(-ish) CON SKETCHES: The letters I through K!
🕑 Added 2020-11-27 14:01:04 +0000 UTCWellp, back to plowing through the remaining pieces in my old CON SKETCHES folder. With these pieces, we're hitting up the illos listed under the letters I through K. A few words:
Does 2008 really count as Vintage? Ehh, maybe.
I did a whole lotta commissions over the years for a kind fella who was a big fan of the 1995 anime Ruin Explorers Fam and Irlie; this one was, I think, the last of 'em.
The sketch after Ihrie is of an obscure variation of Major Kusanagi from Ghost in the Shell 2: ManMachine Interface. Yay!
In the late 90s I did a B&W con sketch of Jamadagni from Titans: Scissors, Paper, Stone based on a swimsuit photo (an early bit of life drawing); alas, I haven't found a photocopy of the original piece, but I did find the printout above featuring sweet-looking color variations on the illo done on a whim by my bud Ryan Kinnaird. Nice!
Finally, I'm 99% sure that I posted the Jubilee and Judge Anderson pics already, but thought I'd repost 'em today in case newer Patrons had missed 'em.
NOTE FOR THE BIG SPENDERS: I'm shooting for the monthly exclusive post for the $10 & $20 tiers to go up on Monday the 30th; also, I might put up a last-minute art req post for the $10 tier over the weekend, though I doubt I'll be able to tackle more than a page or two of 'em at the most. Alas, Empowered vol.12 is a harsh mistress indeed (now that I'm finally making decent progress on the g-d book), leaving me very little time for any drawing on the side.

Ruin Explorers was a terribly underrated anime. Liked the Jamadagni and Jubilee pics especially here.
