VINTAGE CON SKETCHES: Random edition!
🕑 Added 2020-08-07 13:01:07 +0000 UTCI'm working through the remaining scanned pieces in my CON SKETCHES folder more or less in alphabetical order (with the files rather haphazardly named, BTW), hence this rather random bunch of pieces from varying years.
First up:

As important as the Moore/ Bissette/ Totleben/ Veitch run on Swamp Thing was to me (I wound up at the Kubert School in large part because of it, arguably), I've never been one for fan art, hence the frankly crapped out Swamp Thing above.

A cellphone photo of a 2012 piece drawn during my first trip up to Toronto; hope to return someday, but I suspect that ain't happening anytime soon. (Note that I didn't start the two-color con sketch format until 2015 or so, IIRC.)

Never seen the animated show Gargoyles, gotta say. I think this piece was scanned with a different, older scanner than my beloved Epson Perfection—by far the best out there for importing pencil work—hence the slightly odd-looking image of my pencils on linen-finish cardstock.

Alas, the eyes on the Amidala "big head" didn't quite line up correctly. Oh, well.
Ah ha! Just realized her pose looked familiar, and then realized that I must've been using the same photoreference that the Dirty Pair rough sketch below was based on:

NEXT MONDAY ON THIS HERE PATREON: More life drawings, as you might have expected by now.

Man, your Swamp Thing is fantastic. Feels really neat and fitting for the character!
