Work stages on 2010 IBUKI cover for UDON!
🕑 Added 2020-02-13 14:00:04 +0000 UTCI'm not 100% sure that I didn't already post this cover months and months ago, but as I have 10 g-d minutes to schedule this post, I gotta roll with it!
Above are the work stages for my cover illo for issue #1 of UDON's Street Fighter Legends: Ibuki miniseries, a project written by my friend Jim Zub and featuring art by Omar Dogan. Final colors by Emily Warren (no relation), done over my uninked pencils; worked out pretty well, I think.
Gotta go; hope this isn't a repeat post!
Tomorrow on this here Patreon: If I have time to finish scanning the materials, I'm hoping for an installment of Comics Riffs I Love, featuring images from the 1976(!) comic that, in a roundabout fashion, might've indirectly inspired the look of Emp's supersuit.

I've always loved this illustration.

Alas, Emily Warren moved on to bigger and better things, but not before doing the artwork for the one-shot EMPOWERED: 10 QUESTIONS FOR THE MAIDMAN. Great stuff!

I'm just a layman, but I love the color here. Get this colorist for everything!

I love the artwork but one little thing has me confused, in the facial close up on the right there's a lock of hair looping towards her bandana(?)... where's that coming from?
