Sketch dump of art requests from the $20 tier!
🕑 Added 2020-02-11 14:00:03 +0000 UTCBehold, a quartet (UPDATE: quintet!) of Clip Studio Paint sketch sets based on art requests from the $20 tier! The files are a bit larger than previous ones because I'm drawing at higher resolution nowadays, in the hopes of gaining a better idea of what a finished art technique (for published comics) might be like.
UPDATE CLARIFICATION: Ehh, the last one already appeared as a bonus illo in last Wednesday's Distressed Damsels feature, but I thought I might as well repost it here.
Brief notes:
A great suggestion on the Jersey Devil, as I'd forgotten that the fabled beastie hails from NJ's Pine Barrens, just like Ninjette's clan!
That second Bettie pose is nice ref, especially the daintily upheld right arm. Might rip that off for a comic page, someday. Also, tough to pull off Emp cosplaying HQ; maybe I should've tried the classic outfit, in which Emp's veru different physique would've neen prominent.
The first sketch at upper left is based on an old photo from Charlies' Angels, and I could not do anything with the existing poses. Might try again from a better camera angle. And kudos for the Patron suggesting the rooftopping image; I might try more sketching along those lines in the future.
Yeah, that first try at the Betty cosplay was a mess, and looks nothing like the ref photo;; oddly, the subsequent, more cartoony take after it does look a bit more like her.
The imagery of the second damsel is continuing from a comic page featuring the same lass running afoul of a magic analogue for the infamous "tape drone"; I think that comic was exclusive to the $5 tiers on the DiD Wednesday weekly feature a while back.
Coming soon: A query on what you fine folks would like to see on this Patreon, as I'm presently weathering a run of Patrons downgrading or deleting their pledges. Ouch! Also, I'll sketch out my ambitious but quite possibly unwieldly and unworkable career plans for 2020, as I'm eyeing a bold new experiment in both workflow and content. Wheeee!

Actually, the Jersey Devil’s connections with Ninjette might well be tighter that just being from the same neck of the woods. 1. The Jersey Devil is supposed to be the spawn of one of the backwoods clans out of the Pine Barrens.(Depending on exactly how you interpret the whole Mother Leeds thing and the Leeds family) 2. The Jersey Devil could plausibly be referred to as a “blazing-eyed devil goat”. 3. The Yankees have a big fanbase even in the southern parts of New Jersey. One of my pet crackpot theories, therefore, is that our good friend the Caged Demonwolf is secretly the Jersey Devil and was once a kinsman of Ninjettes- hence the close ties and protectiveness. (And probably the attraction- Pineys by reputation have an Alabamaesque attitude towards relationships.)

Emp looks wonderfully happy in the 'Bettie Page' shots. She'd have to pump her confidence and body-image satisfaction up to even try it, but damn she looks good.
