The making of the Sour Mall
🕑 Added 2022-10-20 18:59:01 +0000 UTCIt's now been an entire year since the existence of the Sour Mall, and I just looked at my drafts, and thought to myself -- "Wait, I never really posted this did I..."
So, here it is: A post I was putting up a year ago about my work in progress of the beginning of the Sour Mall.

for the past 2 or so weeks ive been working on a newish world, the Sour Mall, inspired by the recent creations from Kaizomario and Ethosaur. it's a funny little world focused on ambiency (i gave my best for the audios to work gude).
in this post i will talk a bit about it i guess??? go experience it before reading if you prefer, just click here to see the page.
Right off the bat you're presented with this funny little area, which i have no clue why i made it like this. This is the remaining of my private "testing chamber"
it was just a funny map i made to test some stuff with animating UVs with some different uv maps. it was the first thing i made for the map, and it's pretty much what became the tunnel. The floor textures was still present on the first week versions of the map.
the tutorial man you find everywhere is literally just my "measuring tape". This cool guy may be seen with a fan on his head in some of my other maps too. I just like it cuz it's a drag and drop, and he's just so simple it doesn't matter LMAO
then we have the tunnel. it's one of the only few things left from that map i was experimenting with. You can also just skip the tunnel ride by clicking on the button on the right of the start. you can hear the music from Woodfall Temple in Majora's Mask.
Once you arrive, you're greeted with the sight of some things. You can see the Smooth Bucket (one of my recent previous works) on the wall, a dance floor on the distance, a booth and a path. You can hear the music Shine City from Respire 2.0.
On the booth, we have a bunch of images of old game posters and ads. Some of them:
crash bandicoot with the ladies
fucking buff as fuck rayman
just wario
anyway, just a funny old little booth.
by the club, you can spot some familiar faces. I used to have the cookie stuff inside the club, but a friend of mine told me people get mad so i guess i just moved them out???
This was the first main area I made, I just wanted to make some characters vibe to some music from Plok!, Beach.

This is a screenshot from the very, very start of making the map, when I was still figuring out some things. You can notice there was a LOT more nyn rats, i removed some cuz my friend said touhou cookie fans would feel annoyed HAHAHAH
Through this tunnel, we reach the corridor that connects to the Great Pug 2 and the Bathroom. On this area, you can listen to Corridor of Time, fom Chrono Trigger.
On this corridor, we can either go left or right. soem funny cool pictuers i like here, that's it."
...This is where the post ends. Kinda unfortunate to think I didn't really say much more, now that I think about it.
