Working my way through it!

The Raptors are leading the league in transition frequency and he ranks among the top-10 in transition points per game. I don't think his early work should be an issue.

I like the Haliburton-Buddy-Nesmith-Siakam-Turner lineup, but will interested to see what it looks like with Nembhard, too. The Siakam + lineups were stressed a bit with Buddy defending at the point of attack. Of course, the bench as a whole was also stressed a bit from the exertion of the night before. We'll see!

Of course!

Thanks, George!

Samson offered some great insights on Siakam as a back-line defender in the film breakdown we did together, if you're interested or didn't already watch it.

"In that regard, while he didn't always seem assured of when he was supposed to fully commit to helping (oh hey, he's already fitting right in!)". Lines like these are why I subscribe. I was a little disappointed with him as a weak side rim protector, but have to give him a break for his very first game. Also felt a little like Haliburton was clearly trying to feed him, when maybe Hali could be a bit more selfish in that game as he became eventually in the end.

Pascal sitting in a driving lane 16 feet from the cup clapping his hands looking for a post up in early shot clock situations is a fear. I rarely want anyone turning their back to the basket without feet in the paint. Part of that is a selfish viewer preference but I also think it’s part of the reason they have the best offense in the league.

Nice piece as always I noticed the Pascal/Turner 4/5 PNR and remembered that piece you wrote about Nwora running it immediately. Looks like they used that with a different personnel. I'm excited to see what Pascal can do, and wonder what peripherial pieces they'll need around a core of he and Haliburton to make this work

Terrific analysis as always! As someone who missed this game, I appreciate the thoroughness!

Great insights as always. Loved his impact on an otherwise pretty miserable game to watch. Early post ups (even inverted ones) seem to be Obi’s specialty, however, he seems to rarely convert on them. Still like the pressure he puts on the rim. That said, Pascal clearly takes it to another level. Love how he collapsed the defense.

George Goehl

nice piece!
