Future of IoM (Motivation / Community / Development / Future Updates / Leakers / More...)
🕑 Added 2023-03-09 21:00:02 +0000 UTCHello people! This is a text post only, so grab your favorite drink, get comfy, and it's time to read! ๐
This is a general post, so everyone knows a little about the future of IoM.
I will start with the leak news. I will re-post here what I wrote in Discord (which had huge support) because I know not everyone uses Discord.
--- LEAKERS ---
"A user warned me about possible download links of V 0.07 appearing on pirate sites. There are 3 possibilities.
A) A leaker here posts them.
B) A leaker here gets the code of the game modifies it and introduces malicious code with keyloggers to get passwords and Credit Cards details from the ones that download and play the game using those links. (IoM is getting very popular, so hackers are using that to their advantage)
C) Fake links with viruses.
I can't control anything of that. What I can say is that I'm only responsible for my download links. If someone risks their PC downloading from unknown links and something happens, don't blame on me. I already know some people that have been hacked with this kind of links, so beware.
I pay the download links that I offer to those that support the game (I have a pay Google Drive account, a pay Dropbox account, a pay Kdan account, and also a pay PCloud account that I only use if the links collapse from the downloads. I want to offer the best to every supporter and I don't mind paying for that)
If companies like Activision, EA, etc., get their games pirated, what someone like me, that I'm only 1 person developing the game can do?
Instead of focusing on that and getting worried about it, I prefer to work hard and focus on the game, and I expect people to appreciate it and support me"
--- MOTIVATION ---
After this post, I received private messages from people telling me not to worry and not to be de-motivated because of this. First of all, thanks for the messages, and second, don't worry about it. ๐ I'm more motivated than ever! The development of V 0.08 has already started, and I'm super excited about it! Of course, having the game leaked is not nice, but IoM already has 1500+ supporters! I prefer to focus on the nice things, so I keep my motivation and enthusiasm intact. ๐
I even build a special computer for this, and I must put that baby to work! ๐
V 0.07 is, so far, the version with the biggest acceptance yet. About 95-96% of the people liked it, and I'm planning on making V 0.08 even better. ๐
--- DEVELOPMENT ---
Those people that have been supporting me from the beginning already know my way of development.
V 0.01 had no sounds, music, or interactive animations, a good dose of Marci's Engrish ๐ (For the new people, I'm not an English native speaker, I speak Spanish), and look at the game today... I always try to improve every aspect and keep learning new things. Between updates, I try to use around 2 weeks to study and learn new tricks/programs to keep bringing new stuff to IoM and improving it.
For V 0.08, I want to take the sounds to a new level, I'm no sound technician or anything, but I'm always eager to learn. I'm watching tutorials of a program called Adobe Audition. Hopefully, after learning it, I will be able to improve the sounds of the game. (That is one of the improvements that I want to bring in V 0.08)
--- COMMUNITY ---
For me, IoM is more than a game. I want to build a great community around it. I do my best to read and reply to every message, sometimes is very hard, and I have delays, but I do my best. ๐ I think that I've replied so far at 100% of the messages that I get (And trust me, they are a lot ๐)
Doing this takes time. I love developing the game, and I love the community. For me, it is very important to keep in touch, read messages, talk, reply, etc. I could ignore everything and focus only on working on the game, not to be stressed with the release dates, but that's not Marci. ๐ IoM exists thanks to its community, to each one of you. That's the way I see it.
So I want to do my best and reply to everyone. Just take into consideration that I'm one person, and when there are 1500+ people, it's not easy, and I can have delays while replying, or I can miss a message. ๐
--- FUTURE UPDATES ---
My idea since the beginning was to do 20-30 min updates with a release pace of 2-3 months, and well... things don't always go as planned... ๐ the example is V 0.07. It took me 4 months, but the good side is that it was a 1-hour long update.
I enjoy working on the game a lot, and I'm not measuring only gameplay time. I will not cut the game when 30min has reached. I want to conclude each release with a cliffhanger. (Cliffhangers that everyone loves! ๐)
V 0.08 development started with a more powerful PC, so I want to see what I can do with it and how much time I will be able to gain using the top-of-the-line components.
--- CONCLUSION ---
The first conclusion is... if you reached this point, you like to read. Hehe. ๐
The real conclusion, people, I'm super motivated with the game, super grateful to see how much people are playing and liking the game, I'm eager to keep learning new things to keep improving IoM and to put the new PC to work 24/7, and very happy with the community. I want to make V 0.08 the best update yet of IoM, and I'm already working on it. ๐คฉ
Thanks for taking the time to read this post.
I wish everyone a fantastic Thursday!

Hello MNiN! Thanks a lot! ๐คฉ Pure magic! ๐ Yes, and either way, my focus is on the IoM community, and I prefer to use my full time working in more IoM greatness instead of focusing on bad things that can slow the development of IoM. As I said previously, I'm more motivated than ever! ๐ช

Hello JBNY! Thanks ๐ the information is welcome! It's unavoidable for that to happen, but it's a must to warn everyone that those links can lead to viruses, malware, etc, especially now that the game is getting very popular. There is always a risk involved when downloading from 3rd party unauthorized sites. I wish the same for you and everyone! Have a great Friday and a fantastic weekend! ๐

First off, you're doing a great job, MarcialART! As for the idiot pirates / hackers that have no respect for creators like yourself, there are ways to protect your work, and make it harder for pirates / hackers, and even the websites that allow IoM to be on their sites for people to download IoM earlier than you allow. I will email you the info, and will be happy to help you with this. Aside from giving you our support, as we do with other creators on Patreon, we want to make sure your work is appreciated and protected in the best way possible. Also, anyone that downloads IoM from any 3rd party links that are NOT from the original creator, MarcialART, are simply putting themselves at risk to spyware, malware, and viruses on their computer and devices. And, any person(s) downloading IoM from any unauthorized website(s) or 3rd party link(s) that is not from MarcialART, they are simply putting themselves at risk, and they very much responsible for any consequences thereafter. MarcialART is not responsible for anyone downloading from any unauthorized, third party website(s). And for those who enjoy and respect all creators who work hard to bring you some fun and entertainment, don't dishonor them by sharing their hard work to 3rd party unauthorized websites until their work is made available publicly, which eventually it will. All creators simply ask for is a little patience and respect for their hard work, especially if you support them. That is always a win win for everyone! Either way, I said my peace, and wish everyone, especially MarcialART, a wonderful day and evening! Keep up the great works, MarcialART! You have our support! Cheers and Happy weekend! - JB NYC -

Haha, thanks a lot, Bruuuuuce! Nothing is stopping those dreams ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ They will keep coming! ๐

Thanks a lot, Payne! And I'm working harder to bring more and better animations in each update. ๐ Good thing that you mentioned about replaying. I will probably re-do some images of V 0.01 that I saw when testing V 0.07, not many of them, but I saw like 10 that can be updated/improved. I think I will change them in V 0.08. ๐ I'm happy to hear that you love everything and that the game is on par with some Triple-A studios ๐, thanks Payne!
BruceT
You have my support 100% all the way. Keep up the good work, and don't let anyone get in the way of your wet dreams ... hehehe. Seriously, you do great work with IOM, and its a damn shame anyone would download it illegally. Let them risk their own security just for those added half/full hour of gameplay, and put their PC in danger of getting hacked. Onus is on them.
Payne309
You do top notch work here, Easily on par with double, and some tripple A studios. I love your use of animations. hehe, I love replaying from the start every time you update, just to see if there's anything new or improved. I love the flow of the dialogs, the exceptional quality of the frames, and pretty much everything in between. Like you said don't sweat the piracy, there really is very little you can do to combat it. Just keep on keeping on and everything should be gravy!

Hello ShinyHerb! Thanks and you are welcome. I like to be very open and straightforward when sharing info, it is what everyone here deserves. ๐ป๐
MarcialART
Thanks, Ryan! That's exactly what I'm looking for, to give a joyful fun/sexy experience to everyone. ๐ I'm glad that you like it!
ShinyHerb
Thanks for all the Infos. I'm super excited to see how it goes and will remain loyal to You and Jenn.

It is sad the people are stealing the game. You deserve to be paid for your hard work! I like financially supporting those who work hard to create a joyful experience that cannot be found anywhere else. Thanks Marcial! You're doing excellent!
