First and foremost I'm glad it's the year of shadow. He's my favorite character and I'm honestly hoping we get a shadow of the Hedgehog remaster. No matter what anyone else says that's probably my favorite came out of the Sonic franchise and yes I stand by that statement even with all of its flaws it's one of the only few 3D Sonic games that I always pick up and play with insane regularity. As for the knuckles series I knew it was going to be More about the human characters than him. Because that's how Paramount seems to operate when it comes to this stuff period but for what it was I kind of like that I agree with the same critiques that Johnny has gone into but overall. I got some genuine laughs out of it. Even in spite of the flaws

I actually wrote a list of changes I would personally make to this series to make the series properly about Knuckles, with one of the biggest being turning the rock opera into a flashback actually experienced by Knuckles.

To me personally, this was a very inoffensive show. I wouldn't really watch it again, but I didn't feel any strong negative opinions about it. Just a simple kids show

I definitely don’t feel compelled to watch Knuckles after hearing mixed opinions on it, which sucks cause movie Knuckles is pretty enjoyable. Also Shadow the Hedgehog Remastered copium would be incredible but I feel Generations is the closest we’ll get. SA2 remastered maybe??

I went into the show knowing that it wasn't going to be like the most absolute important thing the paramount universe but I enjoyed it. It was one of those TV Shows that I could sit and enjoy. I liked the ridiculous premise behind the show and the highlight for me was the giant 06 reference.

This show sounds like if they took the wedding subplot from the 2nd movie and made it the main plot. Like.... why would you do that?

Not that I would have gotten Paramount+ either way despite my enjoyment of the second movie, but from what I’ve seen people say of this series it probably would have been better as a streaming only movie, that way they could have cut down on a lot of the fluff and given Knuckles a more equal amount of screen time/development along side Wade, cuz I actually do think a story about Knuckles being another character’s teacher/mentor and then learning from each other is actually pretty solid! But I can give this series credit for its take on Iblis being a big old monster that Knuckles fought and got cool powers! Find that to be a big improvement over the game counterpart because I find both Iblis and Mephiles to be some of the most biggest, blandest, balls of nothing in this whole franchise!

Honestly Knuckles being Paramount+'s most popular original content gets less impressive when its competition is stuff like Halo and the LA Fairly Oddparents show. I find it middle of the road, some parts I genuinely enjoyed and some parts that were an utter slog. I do hope they take the feedback into account for future miniseries so that we don't get Shadow helping Crazy Carl win a curling tournament. That being said if all of this culminates in Wade becoming this universe's equivalent to Sonic-Man then it might have all been worth it, lol.

Honestly I thought the show was ok I had the same feeling as I did with the first sonic movie but I rather watch that than this series again. I enjoyed the show however I do agree that they should have done more with knuckles especially since it’s his show. I do hope that in the future they learn what work from this and what didn’t and make a great season 2 or other series probably with tails maybe? Still was expecting a lot more. Also quick question did you hear about the casting news with Sonic 3? I am sure you heard it or are you waiting for an official announcement from the studio?

So.. usually before I watch your reviews, I make sure to look at what you’re covering. This was an exception for a few reasons, but man.. I think I got more out of this review than I’ll get out of the show. The rock opera sounds fucking WILD, and I did not expect them to retcon the Flames of Disaster, but this shit just seems like a nothing burger otherwise. As always, wonderful video!! Definitely not what I wanted out of the show, but I think it has some good things people are quick to ignore. Especially with the places episode 4 goes, I'm shocked at how many people really hate that one, even if it robbed a more serious version of the backstory from happening. Hopefully a future show attempt can learn from this one? And have more chuckles & Knuckles.

Watch this thing for free due to a friend hosting a Discord stream of it. Let me say I don't follow Sonic in other media, I don't do that for most video games outside of Mario for the Mario movie....me and my friends were riffing the hell out of the Knuckles show from start to finish and that was the only fun I got out of it, I might be nihilistic with video game adaptations, I fear Hollywood will eventually just ruin them, I know right now with Mario and Sonic we're getting good stuff and I'm hoping the third movie rocks the socks off everyone who enjoys the movie, I want them to be good, there's just that little voice in the back of my mind that knows Hollywood will milk the shit out of things...and this series was proof of that. For those who liked or even loved it, I'm happy for you, this just wasn't for me, and I don't think the movies are for me either. Still there was fun had and I cant ask more than that right? Great review by the way my opinion, I didn't like the Rock opera as much, but I thought the episode was fine and yeah I hope Wanda isn't a thing going forward, she was the worst!
