Fantasticly successful round. Tons of thump! No way it'd be economically marketable, of course - but dang, slugs like that make me want to get rigged up to make some of my own loads. Now, about those DANNY stickers... I know I know - patience, Ed. :-)

That has to be the least aerodynamic slug you've ever shot. Totally unexpected stability, even at distance. Perhaps with the very light epoxy core, it stabilized because most of the mass was distributed around the outer periphery - moving fastest, and generating the bulk of the gyroscopic force. Seems like there's a physics test in there someplace. You can't argue with results - I wonder what the implications would be for other projectiles, most of which are the reverse - cupronickel jacket around a lead core. Does it change the formula for spin stabilization? Does it explain Minie Ball and Foster slug behavior compared to round ball? Stay tuned . . .
