One boy's Journey - Chapter 4
🕑 Added 2024-02-21 13:37:45 +0000 UTCOTHER CHAPTER | ALL STORY LIST
After sunset, I started getting tired; it had been a big day. As I always do, I reflect on everything before bed. I miss being a boy less every day. But the thought of what happened and the loss of my penis still saddens me. It saddens me because I can't give my mother a grandchild. It saddens me because my mom has sacrificed so much for me.
She never finished college because of me. My father just left one day, and we never heard from him again. My mom was heartbroken. But she never complained.
She just told me she loved me and would never leave me. Mom and Vanessa were always there for me. Spending summers with Aunt V was great. I love Aunt V.
I find myself feeling guilty about having a good time with my extended family while my mom is alone at home. I know I'm the talk of the town back home. It was the single most horrific crime in our town in over ten years. Mom told me her salon was as busy as ever.
She told me she loved the extra business. With me out west, it was easier to work more hours and make improvements to the salon. She anxiously wants to sell and move out west. In Mom's last letter, she made it sound like she was slowly fixing up the salon and saving the extra money.
I knew selling the double-wide trailer home we lived in wouldn't be a problem. It was older, but it was in pretty good shape. Our trailer park was the only one with a pool. I checked my phone before bed.
Mom sent pictures of the salon. She repainted the whole inside in a light yellow and repainted the white doors and trim. I saw new lighting fixtures above all the stations.
She told me Mr. Milford was helping her fix the place up. I asked if she was coming out over Labor Day weekend. She said no. She said she and Mr. Milford were installing new flooring in the salon. She told me Mr. Milford was a big help. She told me Mr. Milford asked her out a few weeks ago, and she said yes.
While he was older than my mom, he was handsome and very polite. It made me smile, knowing my mom was seeing him. Mr. Milford is a good man. I knew Mr. Milford was a widower.
As a janitor at the school, most people don't even look at him. I knew him a little because he looked out for the bullied kids. The football players and school thugs knew to never mess with him.
I cleaned up, showered, put on my pink baby doll nightie, and got in bed. Cathy knocked on the door. I answered it. Oh my, that's adorable on you. I did a little spin for her, and just then Caleb came over. Wow! You are going to be a heartbreaker, Ree Ree. He said.
I smiled. I just wanted to remind you that we have to leave by 10 a.m. Are you all packed? Yes, Sis! I answered. Excellent. Mom will have breakfast ready at 8 a.m. Thanks sis.
Cathy smiled and said, You're welcome, little sister. She hugged me and kissed my forehead. Caleb said good night and kissed my forehead too.
Aunt V walked into the bedroom a couple minutes later. A black nightgown flows over her beautiful curves. Her black hair was tied up in a high ponytail.
She always looks like a model. I told her what Cathy said about tomorrow. Well, we better get some rest, then. We cuddled up and went to bed. I didn't have a night of terror all weekend. With Aunt V beside me, I felt safe and secure.
I got up at 6 a.m. I went to the bathroom, showered, and cleaned up. I grabbed my robe and headed downstairs. I smelled espresso brewing. May was sipping a cup on the back porch, on the swing. I poured myself a cup and walked out to see the sunrise.
Sit Ree, and she padded the spot next to her. She was in a red Korean-style nightgown and robe. That looks so cute on you, said May. I love your nightgown too, I said. This is called a Prettyui. Your mules are very nice. Thank you; I smiled.
Are you finding it difficult to be a girl, Ree? It's not without its challenges, May, that's for sure. When I found out I had no choice, I figured I'd better start learning the ropes real quick. How is it that you didn't have a choice? I'm not judging you; I heard the whole story. You know about my injury.
What you didn't know was that I was allergic to the testosterone supplements. So the only hormone therapy left was estrogen. While my wounds were still unhealed, The doctor thought it best to give me a vaginoplasty.
I said if I was going to do this, I would ask for my B-cups as well. So they shaved my tracia, implants, rhinoplasty, and vaginoplasty. I figured if I'm going to be a girl, I want to look like one.
Well, I must say you're doing very well, sweetie. Thanks, May. Thank you for your hospitality this weekend. Aunt V and I love it here. You're more than welcome, sweetie. We love having you. May I ask you a small favor?
Sure, sweetheart, said May as she stroked my hair.
As she strokes my hair, I start reflecting again. Is this what it's like to have a grandparent? I never knew mine.
If we come back, can you teach me how to cook Korean style? Of course, honey, your family is here now. Cathy loves you like a little sister. You are like a granddaughter to Hank and me. I hope we can get your mother to join us sometime. We'd love that! I said it with a big smile. I hugged her.
We sat sipping our espressos, watching the sun's rays glisten in the morning mist. I took our cups inside for a refill. We sat for another 20 minutes. I may put her arm around me. It felt great to just relax like this.
Caleb came down. How does French toast sound? He asked. Sure, if you're cooking it, Caleb said May. You know I am Mom, he said with a big smile. You'll love Caleb's French toast.
We finished our espressos and went upstairs to change. I did my makeup, packed my purse, and started carrying my things downstairs. Caleb said, I got it, sweetie, go eat. I smiled and kissed his cheek.
Caleb is a great cook; his French toast was great, even better than my mother's. I can see why Cathy loves strong coffee now. This trip was more than a reset for me; it was an eye-opener. I hope we can bring Mom here one day.
I watched as his muscles flexed a bit while carrying my bags. I hope I meet someone as wonderful as him someday. Caleb was funny and friendly. I know now that I was right to pick Cathy as a role model.
Caleb says I would love for you to meet my sister Terri soon. I know you two will hit it off. Caleb drove us. Cathy rode in back with me, and Aunt V was in front.
I asked Cathy all about school and what I needed to study. She told me to make sure to take Spanish, Italian, or French. She also said to take Latin.
She said Latin is required in law school, and knowing it ahead of time will make things easier. She said I should also read and reread the Constitution and Bill of Rights. I thanked her for the advice. She made me promise to tell her about recitals and any other competitions I had coming up.
I asked her about the lawsuit. She said she's working on it, but she wants an airtight case. She said she's hoping for mediation instead of court, so there won't be an appeal. Cathy looked at me and smiled. Don't worry, little sister. I have you covered.
Becky is my boss, and she, like me, hates the way the rich take advantage of the less privileged. When we are finished, you won't need to worry about college loans or anything else you want to pursue in life.
Regardless of whatever money you are rewarded with, remember that it means nothing without an education. I want to be like you, Cathy, helping others in need. She hugged me and kissed my cheek.
We arrived at the airport, and Caleb took care of most of our bags. We hugged on the curb one final time and went to check-in. We checked our bags and checked in for our flight. I slept almost the whole flight. I woke up just before landing, Aunt V stroking my hair.
She looked at me. We need a spa day. What do you think? What's a spa day? I asked. She told me all about it. Sounds relaxing, I said. I'll set it up. We also have to get you outfitted for your school uniforms in the next couple of weeks. Your school books should be arriving this week.
When we walked into the house, all I wanted to do was sleep. I took a quick shower, put my clothes in the laundry basket, and was out. I was up at 5:30 a.m. I started my dilation therapy and went down to the pool. When I finished with my morning swim, I walked in, and Martina was serving breakfast.
She was singing in Spanish. She had a great voice. It made me smile. Aunt V walked downstairs. Sit! Both of you, eat! I'm fine, said Aunt V. Nonsense Ma'am, sit! Eat lean and high in protein, and you need your strength. Okay, Martina, if you insist, said Aunt V. I just sat down and said thank you.
Spanish scrambled eggs were bursting with flavor. We chatted about school and my activities. I was just thinking about how busy I've been lately. I joked that with all I'm doing, I'm not sure I'll have time for school. We giggled a bit.
I gave Aunt V a big hug before she left for work. Martina and I spent some time cooking. She and I kept conversing in Spanish. She insisted I work on it. She was even helping me with the accent.
Wednesday afternoon, the doorbell rang. The mailman handed me two heavy boxes I had to sign for. It was addressed to me. I opened it and found my new school books. I immediately went to check my email. I found my class schedule and a list of the extracurricular activities to sign up for.
I wanted to sign up for the cheerleader tryouts, and the cheerleader practice was from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday during the school year. I signed up for the drama club too. The debate club and swimming team don't start until after Christmas. I signed up for all four.
I went through the class syllabus and looked at the assignments. I thought I'd have nothing else to do, so I planned out a study schedule and started with the easiest one first, Spanish. I figured with Martina drilling me in Spanish, I should get a great head start. I would work on one subject a day, every day.
It's funny that, as a boy, I had no clear direction. My only concern was getting online and playing Xbox with my online friends. I've been out here for 4 weeks, and I barely have time to watch a couple hours of TV in a week. Being a girl has added a newfound maturity and focus I never had as a boy.
Two weeks have gone by now, and I'm writing and conversing in Spanish almost as if it were my native tongue. Martina would only speak English when Aunt V was home. I have been going to my ballet, Kap-ki-do, and gymnastics classes now for a few weeks. My body is as toned as it can get.
My floor exercises are getting better every day, and my homework is as good as anyone in class. I can stand on my toes, but my full-on-toe dancing needs much more work, I'm getting better. My hap-ki-do forms are down pat. A couple more months later, Mrs. Park said I should be ready to test for my yellow belt.
The kids in my classes are beginning to warm up to me a bit. When asked, I don't lie about where I'm from. No one has asked about the incident. As far as I'm concerned, it's none of their business.
Today I was sparring against a boy my size in Hap-ki-do. He kicked me in my ribs near where they were broken two months ago. I saw red; I couldn't help my reaction.
I went into attack mode and landed two punches in the stomach and a back fist to the side of his head. I was about to lose control when Mrs. Park separated us. She sent me to the corner of the mat.
I had to sit with my back facing them on my knees. I was sorry about my reaction. Sammy, the boy was okay. We aren't allowed to strike heads in class without headgear.
Ms. Park made me apologize. I was really sorry. She had a student take over the drills. She took me to the office. I was scared she was going to throw me out of class.
I felt terrible about my reaction. Sammy is actually a very nice and mild-mannered boy. Much like I used to be. He didn't deserve my response. To be honest, he was nicer to me than the other kids in class.
Mrs. Park sat me down and showed me a meditation exercise. I know where that reaction came from, Rianna. You need to harness that anger. Anger like that can destroy you. Worse than that, you can cross a line you won't be able to come back from.
After some meditation, I calmed down. Mrs. Park brought Sammy into the office. I apologized to him, told him I felt terrible for my reaction and asked for his forgiveness. I explained to him that I actually liked him, and it was a reaction due to previous trauma.
Sammy said it's okay; just please try to watch it next time. We shook hands and bowed. Mrs. Park thanked him, and he rejoined class.
I want you to start meditating a couple times a week. You also need to talk to your therapist about this. Stay here, meditate on this for a while, and then you can rejoin the class. Yes, Master Park, I said as I bowed my head. She smiled and rejoined the class.
I closed my eyes and tried to clear my head. It worked for a few minutes. My ribs are still sore from the strike earlier. As I tried to ignore the pain, my mind flashed back to the attack. I started to get angry and cry.
For the first time since I moved out west, I found myself wishing to be a boy for a few minutes. I was a mixture of anger, hate, and depression. I started having a panic attack right there in the office. Mrs. Park walked in and held my hands. Whispering, she brought me back to a calm state of mind.
Mrs. Park talked to Aunt V when she picked me up. I thought Aunt V would be mad. She did the opposite. She had me talk about it. She just listened as I relived today's reaction. She said I've got just the thing to help you. What? I asked. You'll see you'll have to wait for early Saturday morning, honey. First things first. You need a bath.
Aunt V started the jacuzzi tub and said, Stay here until I come to get you. I must have soaked in the tub for an hour. The jets and bubbles helped relax my tension. Okay, Ree, shower, rinse, and get ready for bed.
We can watch Suits when ready. That perked me up a bit more. We watched a couple episodes of Suits, and I fell asleep in Aunt V's lap. She walked me up to my room, and once the blanket was on me, I was out.
I woke up with my Aunt V standing over me; it was almost 4 a.m. I was in a cold sweat. Ree, honey, are you alright? I heard you screaming. Another night of terror. Just what I needed after a terrific weekend.
Aunt V helped me up. I rinse off in the shower. She gave me a dry nightgown and pants, and back to sleep I went. I got up at 6 a.m. and went for my morning swim. Halfway through my swim. Aunt V said I needed to get dressed.
I asked why. She told me I was going to work with her, and my therapist was going to work me into her schedule today. I didn't argue the point; I knew she was right.
I have to give Aunt V a lot of credit here. She's a damn good psychiatrist, and yet she never tries to analyze me. I never asked why. I guess she cares like a parent, always referring to a professional who isn't emotionally attached.
We got to her office at 8:30 a.m. My therapist and I were having lunch in her office. Talk about a working lunch. She was great to see me. I think that eating while talking about yesterday and last night made it easier to just open up a bit.
She again asked if I'd consider some medication. Again, I said no. I told her about Mrs. Park and the meditation exercises. She said that was a great idea. She also handed me a notebook to write down an episode of drastic emotional shifts or anger, especially if I felt rage.
When I was done, Aunt V had me help her receptionist with filling out the phone. I actually enjoyed the work. Her receptionist loved the help. I was just happy not to be bored.
Aunt V had a last-minute patient. I waited in her private office until the patient left. I was texting Mom when she walked in. Mom sent me a selfie of her and Mr. Milford. They both looked happy. Aunt V thought it was a cute picture, and so did I.
To be honest, I really missed my mom. But seeing her with Mr. Milford actually made me happy. She was finally able to have some much-needed time for herself. When we got home, I sat down and wrote her a short letter. I told her how happy I was to see her with Mr. Milford. How great they looked together!
I loved how happy she looked. I asked her to thank Mr. Milford for helping me. I told her about my studying before school started and the dance, gymnastics, and hap-ki-do classes. I told her about my reaction in Hap-ki-do when I got hit in the ribs. I told her about Mrs. Park and Aunt V and how we handled it.
I told her about the trip to Napa Valley. It was supposed to be a short letter. I giggled to myself. I asked Mom when she was going to fly out to visit us. She already told me she was planning for Christmas. I asked her if she had spoken to Cathy about the lawsuit. I also asked about the salon. I told her I loved and missed her.
Over the next two weeks, I had twice-a-week appointments with my therapist and was working in Aunt V's office. I was making coffee, filling papers, and cleaning up. It made me feel good to contribute. At the end of the third week, Aunt V handed me an envelope. I opened it to find a paycheck.
It was almost 250 dollars after taxes. I was shocked. Aunt V, this is generous, but it's way too much. Nonsense Ree, yes, it is more than the minimum wage. Good help is hard to find, and trustworthy help is even harder to find.
Tomorrow, we'll set up a bank account for you. You're working for me now. When you're not in school or doing after-school activities, you will work here. It isn't much, but you should have your own money for activities when you start making friends. Thanks, Auntie V; I hugged her.
When school starts, you will have your therapy appointment on Saturday before gymnastics. I have morning appointments with my patients, so you will work with me on Saturday cleaning and filling. Sound good?
Yes Ma'am! I said. She said to read this and sign it. What is it? It's a confidentiality agreement. It states that you cannot share anything you hear, see, or say in this office with anyone outside the office. I read it twice before I signed it.
Three weeks before school starts, and I still have yet to talk to anyone in the neighborhood. I have said hello to a few of the kids my age; they say hi back, but to them, I am an outsider. I keep my distance from the boys in the neighborhood.
I have finished my Spanish book, my algebra, and US history. I read through my chemistry book, but without a lab, I couldn't do much, so I decided to go through the glossary and study all the definitions. I started the term paper for history and was still studying English literature.
Aunt V caught me studying and writing. Oh my gosh, I totally forgot, she said. What, Aunt V? I asked. You don't have a computer or a printer. Get your purse, sweetie. Yes Ma'am.
I knew I needed one, but with everything going on and all she was doing for me, I wasn't going to ask or complain. I did make an Amazon shopping cart of what I would like to have.
Aunt V took me to Costco, a huge warehouse superstore. They had everything I needed. I felt guilty for how much she spent. Laptop, 3 monitors, screen mounts, cables, docking station, and a printer/scanner.
Not to mention the paper, keyboard, and mouse. She also gave me Microsoft Office 365 and Adobe Pro applications. I made a list of tools to put everything together, and we made a trip to the tool aisle and bought everything I needed.
The back of the Escalade was full. It took a couple trips between Aunt V, Martina, and me to get everything upstairs. Aunt V's house was very modern in design.
Every room had internet ports in the walls. Aunt V said I could get a guy to install it all tomorrow. I told her I could do it. Besides, she had spent enough already. It was late when I finished. But I had everything up and running.
Aunt V was impressed. I love that smile; it always makes me feel good. Nicely done, Ree. Thank you. Tomorrow's Saturday; how about that spa day I mentioned? I have someone I'd like you to meet.
Sounds great, Aunt V! Good. Be ready to leave at 8:30 a.m. Light makeup only, and bring your hot pink DKNY sheath dress and everything for it just in case. Yes Ma'am. I packed everything up and brought my pink makeup just in case.
The next morning, I woke up at 6 a.m. I only do 15 laps in the pool. I do my morning routine and therapy. I put on my purple skater dress and a sleeveless white blouse, with a white bra and thong pants.
I wear my 3” wedge white trim sandals. She said spa day, so I wanted open-toe shoes. I was really looking forward to today. I haven't had my hair done or anything else except my nails.
Extreme Salon and Day Spa, the sign said. They had two locations: Las Vegas and San Francisco. I read through the brochure. They did everything here except cosmetic surgery. I was introduced to the manager, Taylor.
Taylor was about 5' 9" tall. She had curves everywhere. She had a nasal stud in her left nostril and a gold ring on the right. She must have had at least 10 piercings in each ear. It looked extreme but elegant.
She was wearing a very tight bodycon dress in red with black piping trim. She had on 4" platform black spiked heels. Her makeup was a bit heavy, but for the salon, it was very appropriate.
Taylor, my love, said Aunt V; they exchanged air kisses. This is my niece, Rianna. I am pleased to meet you, said Taylor. We did a limp handshake, and I curtsied to her.
Ohh! Taylor, and such good manners too. I smiled. You are two blocked for the whole day, said Taylor. What should we start with first? Asked Taylor.
Body waxing, massage, and go from there, said Aunt V. We were escorted to the massage and wax room. Aunt V and I were side by side on the tables. We're stripped and covered with big, thick pink towels.
Aunt V and I were undressed. I asked her. What she meant by the love comment. Rianna, dear, Taylor is my partner. She lives with her grandmother, and she cares for her.
Her grandmother knows about us and tolerates us, but she isn't fully accepting of us. So we don't flaunt our relationship in front of her. Taylor is everything to me, just like your mom and you are.
All these weeks, why didn't you tell me? You needed to be brought along slowly. Your mother knows and agrees with me. Aunt V, if she is that important to you, she's important to me too. I'm glad to hear that, Ree. I know we talked about it a bit, but I wasn't sure you'd fully understand. I do, Aunt V. I like her.
Just as we finished talking, two technicians walked in. Hello ladies, I'm Tracy, and I'm Lori. We will be giving you your waxing and massage today.
Lori looked at me and asked, Is this your first body waxing, sweetheart? Yes Ma'am. I have to warn you: this will sting the first few times you do it, but the results are worth it. Just concentrate on breathing and holding steady.
Are you ready, Rianna? Yes, Lori. She started at my toes. The wax was warm, and it felt great. She applied the strip and smoothed it out on my foot. Breathe out on 3. 1, 2, 3! She pulls the strip fast, like ripping off a band-aid.
It stung a bit. The sting may have been worse if I had a regular boy's body hair. Thanks to Aunt V and my laser hair removal, it was mostly peach fuzz.
She placed her hand on the freshly waxed area. It felt soothing. She and I repeated the process over and over, all the way up both legs. When she got to my flower, she saw my fading scars. There wasn't much hair around it.
Are your scars sensitive, sweetie? No, it's ok; please continue. May I ask what happened? I looked at Aunt V. It's okay, Ree, tell them. You're safe here, I promise. I used to be a boy. I was severely beaten on my last day of school.
My genitalia were damaged beyond repair. I am allergic to testosterone replacement hormones. So the doctor recommended I transition to a girl; this way, I could go through puberty and live a normal life.
That's very brave of you, Rianna said, Lori. Please call me Ree. Tracy asked how your transition has been so far and how long you have been a girl. About 3 months now. It's been an adventure so far. My mother, Aunt V, and Aunt Cathy have been extremely supportive.
Have you encountered any trouble? Just before leaving my home in Ohio, Tracy said you're the boy from the news? Right?. Yes, I was the victim in the news. That's just awful. I hope those boys rot in hell, said Lori. I hope you're going to sue them! We'll see; my aunt Cathy is a great attorney. I want to be an attorney, just like her.
Lori said. Study hard, Ree. It will be worth the effort in the end. I am way ahead of you. I already have over half my schoolwork done. When does school start? asked Lori. 3 weeks. Are you signing up for any extra-curricular activities?
I signed up for cheerleader tryouts, drama club, and debate team. Right now, I'm in ballet, gymnastics, and hip-ki-do classes. What's Hap-ki-do? Asked Tracy. Korean Karate. It's like judo, but you hit back.
Aunt V and I were rolled over, and they started doing our back half. How old are you, Ree? 13. You're very toned and shaped for 13. How much do you weigh? Asked Lori. 109 pounds. I gained 2 pounds this month, all muscle, I hope.
Who did your implants? Dr. Yung is in Ohio. She did my nose, breasts, tracheal shave, and vaginoplasty. She did a beautiful job with you.
That tight stomach is screaming for naval jewelry, said Lori. I want a naval piercing, maybe an over and under like my aunt, but I'm too young still.
I love mine, said Lori, and me too, said Tracy.
Ladies, easy; she's still a bit young for body piercings, said Aunt V!
Sorry, Lady V, they said. Lady V?, I thought to myself. Soon our waxing was finished, we were rolled over, and the girls started our massage.
I had never had a massage before. It felt strange that someone was touching me. But Lori was a professional. My whole body was tight. 90 minutes later, I felt great. My muscles are more relaxed. Any soreness I had from my extensive activity was gone. My sore hips felt better, too.
Aunt V and I were given pink satin dresses and pink satin robes with pink salon sandals. We put on our bras and pants and our salon attire. We were led out to the chairs. Aunt V was getting her hair colored in her signature jet black, mine in ash red.
My hair is down to my shoulder blades. Lori asked, What would you like to do with it today? Straight, waves, curly? I swim and do ballet, so something can be tied up and capped. I want to keep the length of my hair. I can even out the bottom and give you bangs. Sounds great.
Ree Your hair is screaming at me for curls. Do you know how to use a curling iron and blow dryer? No Lori I really don't; I felt a little sad when she saw it.
Perk up, honey; I'll give you a crash course today. It will be fun. Lori knew just the right way to say it. That perked me up! She whispers in my ear, You're a girl; now enjoy it.
Lori did my gel nails in short pink with a white tip. I wore them short for karate class. It's a lot of work being a girl, but I love this spa day. Lori did my pedicure in the same style. Lori showed me how to curl into waves.
Lori refined my eyebrows a bit more too. Aunt V and I put our clothes on. Lori and Tracy started our makeup. Lori gave me false eyelashes and showed me how to put them on. Lori showed me all kinds of makeup tips and tricks.
You make sure you book an appointment with me for your first school dance. Ree Ree! I want to make you into the most beautiful princess of the dance. Thanks, Lori, I will. Come on, Ree, we have more stops to make. Yes, Auntie V! Lori handed her what looked like a list. Aunt V settled our bills and tipped them.
We drive to the Meadows Mall. It's a very high-end shopping mall. Aunt V, I have enough clothes for now. Nonsense Ree, you are living and going to school in a high-end area of Las Vegas. You are going to need a few more things before school starts.
A casual day at school means office clothes, plus working in my office means you need to dress the part. Besides, every girl needs some first-class undergarments. I wanted to argue the point, but I stayed quiet. Aunt V has never steered me wrong.
Aunt V bought me two beautiful evening gowns, one in royal blue accented with silver accent trimming and rhinestones. The second was purple with gold accent trimming.
Both had spaghetti straps and a low V cut that showed some cleavage. They each had slits on the side that went halfway up my thigh. Aunt V bought me shoes that match. 4-inch heels with straps that tie halfway up my calves.
Why do I need these? I asked. Wearing dresses like this seemed way too over the top for me. Homecoming, school dances. Our country club has events too. Country Club? I asked. Yes, sweetie. I am a member.
I don't go very often, but now that you're here, I think we should socialize a little more. They have dinner parties, dances, and golf and tennis tournaments. The PGA has events there too.
I am not sure if I am ready for all that. I have not made a single friend since I've been here. What about your classes? Those kids barely acknowledge me.
Sure they warmed up to me a little, but I'd hardly call them friends. Have you visited the clubhouse here at all? No, I walked past it a few times. I was just too afraid to go in.
Oh, sweetie, you should have told me. I know you have been busy with work and taking care of me; it just seems silly to bother you. I know what we'll do. Tomorrow is Sunday, and they have a big brunch at the Country Club. You and I are going. We'll mingle and see if we can introduce my niece to some people your age.
We stopped at Ulta Beauty and Aunt V bought me a flat iron, 3 curling irons of all different sizes a new blow dryer with all kinds of attachments.
She even went as far as buying a portable hair dryer that sits on the counter along with hot rollers and soft rollers to go with it. Why do I need all this? I asked. Girls have slumber parties. Doing each other's hair is part of it. Besides, I always wanted a full-size hairdryer.
I tried to act excited and said, That sounds great. I smiled wide and hugged her. Inside I was as scared as ever. Except for my classes, I haven't been around kids my age.
We stopped at Mrs. Park's restaurant and picked up bulgogi, kimchi, rice, and egg rolls. I was really developing a taste for Korean food. I saw her son John in the back, loading up for delivery.
We are having dinner in front of the TV, watching Suits. We went upstairs and helped each other pick out outfits for brunch. I was really nervous; Aunt V saw it.
Honey, it's just brunch. I know, but it seems like such a big step. Taylor will be there; she has a child your age. That sounds great.
I heard the word child but didn't think anything of it. I was exhausted after a full day of salon work and shopping. I remember that shopping with Mom was not always my favorite activity, but I am beginning to see the appeal.
I woke up a little later than normal. It was almost 6:30 a.m. I started dilation therapy. Dilation almost feels more like masturbation at this point. The whole time, I keep thinking about sex with a boy. But I am so scared of boys.
It was very frustrating. I need to exercise and clear my head. I capped my hair in my swim cap, put on my one-piece Speedo swimsuit, and started doing laps. After 20 laps, I went upstairs and started getting ready for my first real-life public debut.
I did my hair with spiral curls on the sides and back in a middle-sized curling iron with 1 1/2" curls. I did my bangs in a small size, about 3/4". I took my time with my makeup; I wanted it perfect.
I did a contouring foundation with a light purple blush, light purple smokey eyes, and purple ombre lips. I put on my purple VS Angel bra with matching thong pants. Aunt V insisted on thong pants. Aunt V hates pants lines. Nude garter belt with nude stockings.
I really love stockings much more than pantyhose. I added my 4” purple spiked heels. I slipped on my purple DKNY belted sheath dress. The belt is trimmed with gold.
Aunt V told me to change my earrings to my gold dangle pearls and my colored studs to gold and add the small diamonds to my 5th hole. My dress showed a bit of cleavage—not too much, but it's more than I normally show—which made me uncomfortable.
With my dress on, it was very clear that my angel bra was doing its job. I was staring at my closet mirror door for a prolonged period. I was looking for any remains of the old Ryan. I couldn't find anything about the old me. It was then that I noticed my ass and hips.
My hips had been kind of sore over the last two months. I thought it was all from my constant exercise and wearing high heels. I realized it was from my HRT.
Dr. Yung said my body would develop through hormones and puberty as a girl. I was swaying my hips in the mirror when my Aunt V walked in.
Well! Look at you! She was smiling with approval. Aunt V, I have hips! You sure do, and everything to go with them as well. Let me look at you. She studied my hair, makeup, and clothes. Rianna, my dear, you are going to stop traffic. You're sure I'm not overdone.
Sweetheart, you are perfect. Aunt V was in a tasteful black sheath dress that hugged her curves. She wore 6" black spiked heels. She had me put on my pearl necklace; it almost matched hers. The necklace hung between my breasts. It was just then that I was glad I insisted on breast implants.
Spin for me. Ree. I spun slowly with ballerina grace. Perfect, just perfect. She took a couple pictures of me and had me pose with my hands on my hips, blowing kisses, and a few others. She texted my mom and Cathy the pictures.
Load up your clutch; it's time to go. I loaded my clutch, and we got in the Porsche. I was surprised we were taking the Porsche. She saw my surprise when she got into the car.
It's a country club, honey. Everyone drives their finest cars. I thought to myself, This has got to be the best car that will be there.
Aunt V backs out of the garage, revs the engine a bit, puts it in first gear, and we are off! Aunt V drives the stick shift like a pro. She was driving a little faster than she normally does. The car rides a bit rougher than the SUV does, but I didn't mind it at all.
As nervous as I was about my debut, riding in this super cool car actually made me feel a bit better. We rolled up to the valet stand. Several teenage boys were working.
The valet hustled around the front, opened Aunt V's door, and handed her a ticket. Another boy opened my door and offered a hand to me. I took it, as he helped me out. I smiled and thanked him.
There was a light crowd walking into this magnificent clubhouse. I could instantly see why Aunt V insisted on my dress. Aunt V presented her membership card to the hostess.
Thank you, Dr. Stockton, right this way. She led us to our table. Taylor was there with a beautiful girl. They stood up, and Aunt V hugged Taylor lightly. I've missed you, honey. Me too, said Taylor. Bree, this is my daughter Lexi. We simply shook hands and sat down.
A waitress came over with coffee. She asked if I'd like coffee. I saw Lexi drinking tea and asked for tea. She smiled and said, of course, young lady. Lexi smiled at me. I hate being the only tea drinker, she said. I patted her hand. Me too. Aunt V and Taylor smiled at us.
Lexi, why don't you and Bree get something to eat? Lexi nodded, grabbed my hand, and said, Shall we? I smiled, still holding her hand, and we walked to the beautiful buffet. We were standing in line, still holding hands. Lexi had a graceful walk and way about her.
We made small talk. How long have you been in Las Vegas? Almost 3 months. Are you going to school here? Yes, I start at Meadows in a couple weeks. That's my school, said Lexi. What grade are you in in 10th grade this year? I asked. I'm in 10th grade too.
We started talking about class schedules and extracurricular activities. I complimented her on being very graceful. She returned the same compliment. I made two small breakfast soft-shell tacos, vanilla yogurt, and strawberries. Lexi had scrambled eggs and vanilla yogurt with strawberries.
Walking back to the table, we caught the boys staring at us. It frightened me a bit, but I knew they were just being boys. We sat, ate, and chatted about school and our goals.
Lexi and I talked about school and college. I told her I wanted to be a lawyer. Lexi wants to be a psychiatrist like Aunt V. I found out Taylor not only owned a piece of the salon but also owned a couple other businesses in town.
Lexi and I started talking about extracurricular activities for school. She said she was in the drama and debate club. I told her I signed up for those too. I told Lexi I had signed up for the cheerleader tryouts.
She told me she was a cheerleader last year. I asked her if she would show me some of the routines. She said she'd love it too. She told me cheerleading camp starts Wednesday through Saturday before school starts. 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Taylor immediately offered to give me a ride to tryouts. I thought that was great and accepted it. Lexi asked me if I had any dance or gymnastics experience. I told her I did. She said, Great, you should catch on quick. Aunt V invited them to the house after brunch so we could start practicing right away.
We got back to my Aunt V's house. When we got there, Lexi and I raced upstairs to my room. Giggling all the way. I was pulling out my leotards and leggings for us to wear.
I noticed that her index finger was shorter than her ring finger. Lexi was slender with very curvy hips and buttocks. She was curvier than me, with very perky A-cup breasts.
Lexi, can I ask you a personal question? Sure Ree. Do you still have your boy bits? Stuttering H, h, How'd you know? Your fingers and it takes one to know one, I said.
I showed her my fingers. Yes, I still have my boy bits. What about you? I am a full-time girl now. How? Your 13! It's a long story, Lexi! I'm listening, she said.
It was the last day of my freshman year of school. I was walking through Senior Square, and I was jumped and pulled into the bathroom by two football players, and two twin brothers joined them. I fought like hell, but they gave me swirls until I almost drowned. I was thrown to the floor, and they kicked and beat me until I went limp. I was left dead.
The janitor, Mr. Milford, found me, photographed the scene, and called the police. He was an Army medic and gave me first aid. I was out of it for 6 days. My testicles and penis were damaged beyond repair, and to make matters worse, I am allergic to testosterone supplements.
The doctor said the only way I could live a healthy, normal life was to get a sex change. So I asked for B-cup breast implants, and they did everything. Implants, rhinoplasty, vaginoplasty, and tracheal shaves I'm a girl now, forever.
What's your story? Lexi? I have felt like a girl all my life. My parents thought it was cute at first when I was 3. My mom loved it. My dad tolerated it until I was 5. When I started going to school, they both insisted I wear boy clothes. I did as told, but I always wore pants under it.
Mom bought them for me. When I was 7, my dad caught me in my pants and threw a huge fit about it. He beat me and my mom. My mom never recovered from the trauma.
My dad has been in jail for 6 years and has another 28 years to go before parole. I was turned over to the state because my extended family wouldn't take me. Dad told the whole family.
I waited almost 3 years to be adopted. The day I met Taylor was life-changing. She and I had three interviews together. I was open with her. Two weeks before my 10th birthday, Taylor officially adopted me.
Almost immediately, Taylor had me visit a psychiatrist. My aunt V? Yes, Vanessa. Vanessa gave me a comprehensive psychology exam. I was diagnosed with gender dysphoria.
Both Taylor and Vanessa saw my torment. I had taken additional exams and more testing. Six months after my adoption, I was able to start HRT.
Ree? Can I see your flower? Only if I can see yours! Deal! said Lexi. We dropped our pants at the same time. Lexi had a very realistic flesh-colored panty that looked like a real flower. She pulled it down slowly, and I saw a very small penis.
Her balls were the size of peas. Can I touch it? I asked. Only if I can touch yours, she said. Deal! I said. I touched it gently; it was so small, I said. It was about 2" long. Her scrotum was just loose skin with two peas floating inside it.
Lexi said my tiny balls dropped a year ago. But only because they shrank up so much. I have not had an erection in almost 2 years. My doctor told me I'd never have another one. Your turn, she said. I laid back on my bed and spread my legs. Ohhh, Ree, it's so beautiful. She ran her slim, soft fingers over my flower.
It was electric. I wanted to moan so badly. She was so gentle; I loved her soft touch. Lexi saw my nipples get hard. Lexi!!!! I moaned softly. Yes, Ree? Please stop. Are you sure? No, yes. I mean, we need to practice. If you're sure, Ree. I, I, I am. We don't want to get caught. You're right, honey.
We changed into leotards, leggings, and tennis shoes. We went downstairs, holding hands. Taylor and Aunt V were kissing softly. They looked so cute and happy together. Well, you two look like you're getting along, said Taylor. So do you, I said. Aunt V blushed, and Taylor smiled.
We're going to go out to the pool and run through the routines. Okay, girls, have fun. We went out to the pool and started stretching out. Lexi started walking me through the routines. It was 10th-grade cheerleading, and most of the moves were very easy.
After an hour, Lexi and I were in sync for the first routine. Lexi was a great instructor. She made me call the routine number before starting each one. We were at it all afternoon. We got through four routines. They were relatively easy.
Lexi and I commented on the disappearance of Aunt V and Taylor. I ignored the comment; it's none of my business. We went inside and had some iced tea. We cooled down and watched a little TV.
Lexi introduced me to this Netflix series called First Kill. We were in the middle of the second episode when Aunt V and Taylor came downstairs. They were holding hands. They looked very in love. I just smiled and looked at Lexi. She was smiling too.
How'd she do? Taylor asked Lexi. She did great, mom. Can Lexi come over tomorrow and Tuesday? I'd love some more practice with Coach Lexi. That's a great idea. I'll drop you off before work and pick you up afterward, if it's okay with you, V? It sounds great, said Aunt V. Lexi, why don't you go get changed? So we can head home. Okay, mom! Come on, girl, I said. We went upstairs to change.
Ree, Can I use your shower? Sure, honey, I'll get you some towels. Lexi started the shower and stripped. She has a nice body. We are about the same size. Lexi was out in 10 minutes. She had a towel wrapped around her sweet breasts and one on her head. I had her clothes laid out on my bed.
As she started drying off, I started my shower. I took a little longer in the shower. I came out of the shower with the towel wrapped around my head and over my breasts. Lexi was in her bra and pants. Gosh, she looks great. It was just then that I noticed Lexi had her naval pierced.
I told her I loved her belly button piercing. She said she wanted a nose stud like mine. I told her Aunt V that I'd have to wait for a naval piercing. I told her about Cathy's and Caleb's double naval piercings.
She thought it sounded cool. I said that's what I wanted. Lexi said we should get pierced together. I said I'd love it too. Lexi gave me the sexiest of smiles. I felt a tingle inside me.
We got dressed and headed downstairs. Aunt V, could I have a second? Very quietly, I asked Aunt V if Lexi could sleep over tomorrow night. Aunt V's face lit up. Great idea, Ree, she said.
Lexi, would you like to spend tomorrow night with us? Lexi got a big smile and said, Can I, Mom? Sure, sweetie, said Taylor. We'll see you girls tomorrow, said Taylor. We all hugged and said good night.
Well, that went well, said Aunt V. You two got along pretty well. Yes, we did, as I said. I'm glad you made a friend. Me too, Aunt V. So what did you girls talk about? Our shared transition for one. She told you? Yes, Aunt V and she told me she's on HRT as well.
Did you tell her about yourself? Yes Ma'am. Why. She shared with me, and I wanted to be honest with her. What did she say? She was supportive like I was to her. We have a lot in common.
Like what. She wants to be a psychiatrist like you. I didn't ask, but I think you are her role model. Really! said Aunt V. Really, she said that because of you, she got permission to start HRT at a young age. That is true, Ree; it was a mountain of work too, and worth every second of it.
I hope I'm not causing problems for you with Taylor. Not at all, sweetie. She, more than most people, understands what you are going through. It's just another reason I love Taylor.
You know you can go out if you want. I mean, Lexi and I can hang out together if you two want to go out in the evenings.
That's very sweet, honey. We'll think about it. How about we order out for dinner? asked Aunt V. I have enough leftovers for taco salad. Interesting, said Aunt V. I went to work in the kitchen and started our salads. I had a new bounce in my step.
