AND NOW FOR SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT
🕑 Added 2024-08-13 11:14:18 +0000 UTCRight. Enough misery. We're going to be filming some Patreon-only stuff this week, and are planning a video to be an antidote to the weekend's grim monologue.
So... to start... during last week's BIffo's Brain/Writer's Club Zoom, Sanja and I were taken aback that nobody had heard of some of our favourite funny people and videos, so I'm going to share a bunch of them with you here.
I dare say a few of you will know of these - particularly the one above - but they might all go some way to lightening your mood. The less you know about most of them the better, so I won't ramble on too much...
ALAN TUTORIAL
Start here with this first episode - they're only short - and then just keep watching. It's incredible.

THE SCULPTOR'S CLAYGROUND
From the creator of Alan Tutorial... we're actually seeing him live next month, and I've no idea what to expect.

PEACH CLUB
Definitely one of my favourite things ever, and there's a whole series of these (search for them). This is by a guy called Chris Hayward. He has another character that I'll link to below that hardly anybody knows about.

RELAX WITH DR GILES PODAN
The voice alone makes me laugh. Giles Podan has become another series by Chris Hayward - do a search - but it's these early audio-only ones that I love the best.

HORNO'S MAGIC ITEM HOLE
The channel Wizards With Guns I find a bit hit and miss, but these QVC/Dungeons & Dragons parodies are the best thing they do.

PROFESSOR WHISKERS
I can't believe there's anybody who hasn't heard of Aunty Donna. There's a lot I could've shared, but I've picked my favourite song of theirs.

DON'T GET IN THE KILN
Oh, have another Aunty Donna, just because Broden wasn't in the previous one, and he's my favourite.

GHOST TOUR - I THINK YOU SHOULD LEAVE
I Think You Should Leave is probably my favourite non-online comedy of the last few years. It's hardly obscure, but if you haven't seen it (it's on Netflix) you should.

DECKER - EPISODE 1
I hope everyone on here knows about On Cinema At The Cinema. It's one of the greatest comedy series of all time - an ongoing saga of the co-dependent relationship between an idiot narcissist and a man who is obsessed with VHS tapes... all framed as a film review show. The On Cinema universe is sprawling, and pure genius.... but probably my favourite era of it is when they made a spin-off series called Decker, purely as a vanity project for Tim Heidecker's character. I don't know if it works without the context of the parent show, but still... here's the first ep.

I'm sure there are others I've forgotten, but for now... this is enough for you to be getting on with!

Bit late to the party but this is my first comment as I’ve only just joined! Love the above recommendations. My faves offline are The Detroiters (anything with Tim Robinson is ace). Anything Tim and Eric (Awesome Show especially). Eric Andre, Sunny in Philly etc. Too much American stuff? Brass Eye, Cunk, Jam, Vic n Bob. Top online is Nigel and Marmalade by @TomBates. And Mr Biffo obvs.
