I do like this show. BTW the Adam guy is 25 and is a male model (and in a relationship with the actress who was playing his girlfriend) but he does look out of place but so do 90% of the characters. I think it was because of how explicit this show would be, they needed adults so they could portray the issues honestly. And don't worry, Otis and his Mom argue a lot. ESP once she gets more screentime.

In terms of the stereotypes, fashion and the school structure, it isn’t really realistic for the UK in my opinion. But I can see they’re trying to be a bit vague with the time period and culture. Very similar to American high school shows of the past few decades.
