Yeah. It’s scary to contemplate that Chad will make a positive impression on the jury as a good man who unfortunately fell for the wrong woman while Lori sits there smirking, tossing her hair and looking crazy as a jay bird.

I have read many reports on the Chad D Lori V story and watched many podcasts. My assessment of the 2 right now is that Chad Is Very Dangerous. He is able to compartmentalize - fit in - use his connections to protect himself while manipulating from behind the curtain so to speak - - appearing mild and quiet. Lori is obviously a charmer and has endless need for praise and attention. I am concerned because Chad has his progeny booting his identity as the religious good father etc. It's ironic that the thing that makes Lori such an easy focus of attention for the public/court = her expressiveness - feistiness etc - playing to seem attractive - - - helps make her look more unstable white Chad looks like dressed up schoolboy in his court suit. I wonder how the fixation of how different they are and appear to the public will play a possible role in their ability to connect with the jury. Will it be challenging for the jury to not get caught up in trying to read each of them in relation to the other - - along with all the details of all the crimes. This is going to be a hard case for jurors. I don't want to see 2 trials and understand why court doesn't want them severed. But I am concerned that there may be a distraction factor with these particular characters as co-defendents - - that may occasionally mask or interfere with getting a real good picture of each of their conduct.

I was thinking the same. Imagine the pain of reading that email from Charles and also maybe having her husband ( Scab of Chad ) bring up polygamy. If those 2 things occurred in short succession Tammy would be shocked and devastated.

I wonder if Tammy was depressed because she knew about his affair with Lori. At that get together Heather said Charles was already dead which means he had sent the email to Tammy. I know we don’t know for sure if she read it but it kind of makes you think she had.

That was a very challenging and heart wrenching interview. I salute Heather for her tenacity, courage and moral certitude in the face of such devastation and fall out in her family and home community. It is encouraging to see that she has been able to take steps to care for herself and find her way forward with the help of outlets such as good therapy, new activities , connection with peers and a step back from doctrinal programs. Thank you Lauren & John for taking the time to give Heather a platform and open supportive space to share her story in the tussled universe of rotating and spun out Chad/Lori induced catastrophe.

When Heather said Chad was jealous of her husband during the orchard story I imagine Chad’s jealousy started when he came back from his exalted mission (in New Jersey) and found his younger brother had a gorgeous hot girlfriend! Whose inside beauty was a shining light of faith, intelligence, intuition and courage. Keep stirring Heather! You make a big difference in the world. Hugs Heather. Successful narcissists (Chad) can be skilled at getting their version of events believed. You stood no chance. The narcissist is often more vigilant and sensitive to potential threats to him/her, so he or she will strike first broadcasting with their spin or lies to anyone who will listen., By the time you voiced the truth, it was too late.

Omg Dr John is amazing- he has the perfect demeanor - very easy for someone to open up. Heather is amazing. You can tell she’s so strong (but I’d bet she doesn’t see herself like that) she’s honest & graceful when addressing touchy subjects (The separation from Jack & Sheila & Chad’s children) - Big hugs to Heather for her courage & Kay & Larry. I grew up Mormon and both sides of my family are, “everything’s fine” people. I feel like Mormonism socializes people to be avoidant (including denial) and passive aggressive. Most families I knew, including mine, do not address issues and if someone is bold enough to vocalize a concern, which is healthy communication, they are seen as, “causing problems,” aggressive, and confrontational. The passive aggressiveness is often via gossip, like the relief society woman who would call Heather to talk about things. Heather seems like a woman who communicates very well and not at all passive. Compared to the other women in the Daybell family Heather doesn’t play by the social norms of “everything’s fine” and for Chad especially that must have been very intimidating. I feel so sad about Tammy’s last days. It sounds like she knew Chad was having an affair by Heather’s descriptions of her sitting separately and completely withdrawn. Just heartbreaking.

I love this woman. She is smart, sassy and knew something was bad. Honestly, the first person in this entire family that I can relate to and understand honestly, how horrible it must have felt that she could do anything early on; no evidence who would believe her? It was a freight train coming down the track that she could not do anything but watch.
