Painting first layers
🕑 Added 2019-06-27 23:44:03 +0000 UTCJust wanted to show what the first few layers on a painting look like, left is the digital mock up for what this will be and right is the actual painting. I call this the ugly duckling phase because it does not look good and I usually tell my self very mean things during this stage. I wanted people to see it in case they every get discouraged during their art, everything starts out kind of wonky but it gets there in the end I promise! :D

This time I used graphite paper, so I layed that over the canvas and printed out my digital art and traced over that on top of the graphite paper transferring it to the canvas. I think I’m never gonna do that again because it made a huge mess. My studio mate has a projector and I think in the future I’ll just project it onto the canvas and trace that.

Thats so encouraging, thank you for sharing your process! <3 Also your 'ugly duckling' phase looks pretty darn nice already! :D
May I ask how you go about transferring your drawing to your canvas?
