Chapter 17 The world is going to be destroyed again
🕑 Added 2025-10-12 11:29:27 +0000 UTCIt wasn't that Connors didn't know how to eat melons quietly; he was making trouble sincerely. The main reason was that when he knew "Black Widow" Natasha had come to Gotham for "Spider-Silk" Cindy, he couldn't just sit back and watch.
Taking advantage of the gang bosses taking off their pants one by one to expose their backsides, he stepped forward and kicked them one by one, distributing the punishment evenly, kicking the bosses into a furious state.
Click-Clack!
In addition to Connors, there were other henchmen on the third floor of the Iceberg Lounge. At this point, they took up their guns and aimed at Connors.
"Kill him!" A big boss who had fallen to the ground simply sat there and gave orders. Suddenly, bullets rained down.
"Black Widow" Natasha felt that things were getting weirder and weirder, but she was still sitting on the chair honestly, planning to wait for this little minion who kicked people inexplicably to be killed before making her next move.
The bullets hit Connors as the big guys expected, and the gang suit he was wearing was instantly beaten to pieces. But soon, the gunfire slowed down with a little hesitation, and the henchmen who were firing looked at each other.
A suit full of holes quickly shriveled from its human form and fell softly to the ground. The target they had been shooting at was completely invisible at this point.
The gang bosses heard the gunfire stop, and the bodies they had just thrown down stood up one after another. When they saw that only one piece of clothing was left in place at the original location of Connors, their brains went down again.
Grandmaster-level Trick!
Connors had completely avoided the bullet storm with just one move, a classic escape by leaving a decoy. At this time, he stood beside the big guys, holding a chain that had come from nowhere.
The combination of his "Little Trick" and "Unlocking" skills allowed him to quickly string up all four or five big guys present. He then hit them one by one, hanging them all in the middle of the Iceberg Lounge. He predicted that these big guys might start wailing and yelling, so he also took off all their leather shoes and stuffed them into their respective mouths.
As for the minions who were shooting with guns, Connors showed no mercy. His mid-level MMA ability, combined with the use of small tricks, made him almost ignore them. After knocking the last standing minion unconscious with the butt of a gun from his companion's hand, he walked up to the confused Black Widow and reached out with a smile.
"Hello."
Seeing Natasha's eyebrows raise, he said again before she could speak, "I know this chair can't tie you."
Natasha's hand, which had been tied to the chair behind her, was pulled out of the chain very naturally. She gave Connors's hand two firm grips. "Gotham's Dark Knight really lives up to his reputation."
She's treating me like Batman… Connors laughed secretly and said, "If I were Batman, I'd be talking to you with my face covered right now."
After shaking hands with Connors, Natasha sat back on the chair, her black-stockinged legs crossed. "First of all, no matter whether you are a friendly party or not, it is impossible for me to give you my mission goal."
Connors nodded in approval. "Me too. Whether you're from the Red Room or S.H.I.E.L.D., I can't possibly give 'Spider-Silk' to you."
Halfway through his sentence, "Black Widow" Natasha almost went on a rampage, but her sanity allowed her to restrain the impulse. Even she didn't see through Connors's easy escape in the face of a hail of bullets just now, and didn't realize it was him until Connors hoisted the big guys with a chain. Such a ghostly guy… even if Natasha had a gun in her hand, she was not at all sure that she could get any favors at this time. So when she heard the rather sensitive words "Red Room," just a flicker of change crossed her face, but soon the smile remained.
"But my interest in you now is much greater than in 'Spider-Silk'…" Natasha, realizing she probably couldn't win by force, started to hint again.
"These twists and turns are of no use to me, Natasha. Tell me what you are looking for 'Spider-Silk' for. If the purpose isn't bad, I know her movements." Connors ignored her temptation. He'd gone crazy with Cindy for almost two hours before bed; he was in no mood for games now. He could never compare to her tricks as an agent and spy, so he simply made it clear.
When "Black Widow" Natasha saw that the teasing was ineffective and she couldn't beat him, she suddenly felt powerless, like punching cotton. She decided to delay for a while and send a signal for help.
She was sitting on the chair, with one hand secretly reaching behind her. When she was about to send the signal, she was shocked to find that her paging equipment had appeared in Connors's hands at some point, and he was constantly playing with it.
"As far as I know, 'Spider-Silk' should have no connection with you, S.H.I.E.L.D., or the Avengers. She has always been alone. Now you are sent here. What kind of experiment do you want her to cooperate with?" Connors was playing with Natasha's paging device in his hand. It looked like an earring, but it actually contained a hidden device for sending signals. Discovering it was due to his spider-induction, but getting it from Natasha's hands without her knowledge was thanks to his little tricks.
What is S.H.I.E.L.D.? Should I know them? Natasha had never heard of an organization called this in the world.
"Okay, then I'll just say it…" Seeing that all her methods seemed transparent in front of Connors, Natasha simply leaned back in the chair and revealed her entire purpose for coming for "Spider-Silk." "The Ancient One predicted that the world will perish in three years. 'Mr. Fantastic' Reed Richards wanted to create a device that could travel through time and space to change it all, but there is currently a problem and he needs 'Spider-Silk's' ability to cross dimensions with her Spider-induction for help."
Before she came to Gotham, the Ancient One had already predicted that she would encounter a very strong opponent in this operation. Natasha had thought it was Batman, but she never expected to fight an unheard-of Connors halfway through.
The Ancient One… Connors' first reaction was the bald but heroic mage from the movies. Then he heard the news about "Mr. Fantastic" Reed. Reed was obviously a hero on the technology side, and he had reached the pinnacle of technology with his brain. In the comics, his technology was almost omnipotent, but at this time, he couldn't create just a time-traveling device?
"You're lying to me," Connors smiled as he looked at Natasha.
"I'm not! I'm not!" Natasha, seeing that he didn't believe her when she was telling the truth, was a little anxious. "Reed had actually built the device, but when it was running, he couldn't find any future time points, otherwise he wouldn't need 'Spider-Silk''s help."
"Oh," Connors nodded.
Natasha was almost going crazy. She had never seen such a nonchalant man. Okay or no, just give her a word! What did "oh" mean?!
Connors at this point was thinking. The world will be destroyed in three years… The comics get restarted every now and then, and it's not unusual for various villains to destroy the world. I traveled here by myself, eating melons to get stronger, to get stronger to live with quality. Logically and emotionally, I can't sit idly by and ignore such a big thing.
But he couldn't believe everything Black Widow said. He was going to find someone to test it out, and he already had the right person in mind:
The Flash, Barry Allen!
