Unfortunately, Tara’s stepdad Chip passed away today. After a long and difficult stretch, the family had to make the decision to remove him from life support, as there was nothing more that could be done. It’s been an incredibly heavy time, made even harder by the fact that this is all happening on Christmas Eve — a holiday that, for our families, has already carried more than its share of hospital rooms and hard moments over the years.
Friday’s Christmas Vacation episode will still be released as planned, but after that we may be taking a little extra time before filming and releasing new content. It shouldn’t be a long break, but the next few weeks may be lighter than usual while we deal with the fallout of his passing and give ourselves the space to get through everything that comes with it.
We truly appreciate all of the concern, kindness, and comfort so many of you have shown over the past few weeks as we’ve been navigating what we knew was coming. It’s meant more to us than you probably realize.
Once things are handled and we’re back on our feet, we’ll be back up and running. Until then, thank you for your patience, understanding, and support. Hug your people a little tighter this holiday season.

Heartfelt condolences to you and all of your family. My stepdad passed Dec 2. I was fortunate to spend the weekend previous with him in the hospital when he was still coherent and responsive. He came into my life in 1975 and was indeed the dad who "Stepped Up". Every man in my family is also a stepdad and the kids' lives are much better for it.
