October 2023 Progress
🕑 Added 2023-10-23 03:18:32 +0000 UTCHi everyone. It's been a little over a month since my last hotfix, so I figured I should update you on the progress I've made so far with the next update.
Compared to the last update this one is on a much bigger scale both in size and complexity, so I've been more deliberate on the work I've done. I recently finished planning and making all of the rooms for the new and improved Alumin Village (including the inside rooms). I've also made lots of new assets like character models and art for spanking scenes, and have fully outlined the main story of the new town. Like the changes with Tungsten Town from the original SQ2 version to the current SQ2:RE version, I'll be redoing the main story quest from the ground up, although this one will tread much of the same ground as the original, just with some more polish and care put into it. This next update will feature a big chunk of Alumin Village and the main quest, about 80% of it, along with many sidequests and diversions you can spend your time on in the town. However the entire town will only be finished in the update following this upcoming one, similar to what I did with Tungsten Town as well.
Just like with the Tungsten Town redo, you'll see some familiar and new faces, along with old locations that have been upgraded. The new town is 3 screens wide, one for each district, an expansion over the prior 2 screens worth of town. You'll recognize some old landmarks, such as the bazaar, museum, and the special corner-time-walls which I now incorporated into the architecture of the temple. The new temple in particular I'm satisfied with, it was a design I thought up long ago but only now was able to actually make it.
I can't put a timeline on when the next update will be done, because I've only just started the long and arduous step of actually eventing the whole town. I'll put a soft deadline by the end of November, but naturally holidays and potential job changes could get in the way of that. I hope you're excited for what you see so far.

This is fabulous! I'm extremely excited about seeing the new version of Alumin Village. It's only been a few days since I finally got to explore beyond Tungsten Town and I'll be thrilled if we get to experience more this year. Thank you and take care.
