Backstage Pass #3

While a buffer can help during weeks where you aren't able to pull out a lot of pages, it also can make it difficult to make last-minute changes to script, character motivations, etc. since pages are already completed. For this reason, I like to try and make my buffers no longer than 20 pages at a maximum. Thankfully I get most of the kinks out of the way with thumbnails, and seeing how the story plays out several pages ahead of having to actually make them helps a lot. Still, even with the buffer I have, there are some things that I kind of regret and wish I could change. Sitting with a completed page for several weeks at a time can really make that 20/20 hindsight unbearable at times.
Surprisingly, I don't have a hard time churning out pages assuming I already have a script and sketch to work with. Usually the process that takes me the longest amount of time to figure out is how to handle the story; the visual art feels like a much more automatic process that's much easier for me to break down. I've had the next page for Chapter 2 ready to go for some time, though I've been having a hard time with character dialogue so I can't consider it complete yet.
