Originally, the acronym was going to spell out something foul like "BOGPUSSY" or "HAGZ" but I figure I really ought to try and reach a little higher than keep returning to the same well of shock/sex humor-- at least not all the time.
The interesting thing about Boston is that the stereotype of the loud, obnoxious reactionary sports moron is easily the most prevalent in the cultural mindspace, despite being essentially out of sight, out of mind for most people under, like, 40, who tend to mostly hang around Jamaica Plain, Allston or Cambridge/Somerville. You really only see these guys out in full capacity if you venture into parts of downtown or Fenway. Otherwise, the big stereotype for the average Bostonian is some pastel button and fleece wearing jagoff on one of those motorized uni-wheeler things, zooming home to his asian girlfriend at 30mph with no helmet after a hard day of work at Harvard-MIT offices either working on cancer research, or two doors down, developing some new kind of hospital-seeking missile, mentally having to decide if he would rather cut through Allston and have a bunch of skateboarders try and throw beer bottles at him, or cut through The South End and risk coming close to a black person. On the way home, he will pick up an unfathomably burnt slice of pizza.
Also, in case you aren't from Boston-- are gas pipes always seem to be fucked up for some reason? Usually leaking and/or exploding. Maybe this isn't actually regional, but only seems that way, like how every city happens to have the worst drivers in the country. Oh well!

Merrimack was recent enough for us to keep dunking on our shitty gas infrastructure
