pls!! pls!! It's such an underrated album and a gem! Q's is a labelmate of Kendrick, Kendrick used to be signed to Top Dawg Entertainment. They got a few songs as a "group" called "Black Hippy" with two other members of TDE, Jay Rock and Ab Soul. TDE had an golden era with all 4 four of them and still is with SZA.

that sample in blood and DNA (they’re from the same clip) is from Fox News commenting on kendrick’s last album TPAB

Check out Blank Face LP by ScHoolboy Q!!

Thomas Martin

nope, LUST. is also my favourite on the album, perfectly depicts how black Americans would have felt at the time in an almost haunting way

Kelpsaltdank

I have just sat down on a lunch break to listen to this and Kendrick’s Purple Hearts comes on the cafe stereo. Good signs!

Kayen

That was a great reaction, love the hits

Devin

This was a fantastic reaction! I could see people being somewhat “let down” since it was a lot more of a mainstream influenced sound for the album but it is my favorite Kendrick album.

Dominique

Love this album but I agree GKMC is still overall favorite, the vibe of that album is unmatched

REDM

lovely way to end my Sunday 🎂

Klischeekind

well I do think it is way less coherent than the other albums that actually tell a story, but it is still great! Especially lust, xxx and fear are some of my absolute favs from him

Evan McMahon

The Peter Griffin reference is spot on

The Mercurial Number Six

You noticed! They cost a fortune! Ha ha!

The Mercurial Number Six

The Mercurial Number Six

Thanks for the suggestion. :-)

The Mercurial Number Six

This album has aged amazingly imo, gets better every time I go back to it. Duckworth and Fear are 2 of the greatest storytelling tracks ever. Since you looked up Kaytranada you should definitely check out his music, he’s an amazing producer that mixes house and hip hop in a very cool way.
