In regards to CWD, I work in dentistry and part of sterilising instruments is using an autoclave. Our autoclave has a prion setting, but as it’s never used I thought for a solid year it said prison setting lol. Prions scare the absolute shit out of me. It’s part of the reason for single use tools in dentistry, especially stuff for root canals. I don’t have any patients with prion diseases but I do often wonder if there are any with one that they have no idea they have. Undoubtedly the scariest thing on earth, a few misfolded proteins and your life is 100% over, 100% fatality rate. It gives me the same feeling I get when I read about radiation, fascination but also terrified.

Man this author is great. I like his stories for a lot of the same reasons I love junji ito’s. Bite size stories that don’t waste your time and are packed with really well crafted and scary imagery. He also does a good job of making you care about his characters while not lingering on them.

The climax of this story was one of the most tense sequences in a story they've read in a while I feel. With all these stories about parasite/worms/biohazards that they've read, if they ever decide to read an actual novel It'd be really interesting to see them do The Troop by Nick Cutter and how they'd react to it as well as what the reactions of certain segments of the audience would be who haven't read it. I'm sure it would be triggering for some with how harrowing a story it is about bad things happening to children and animals alike. Definitely not a fun story in the slightest.
