Chapter Update and Poll

I hope you're all doing well.
I had some family obligations today and couldn’t find the time to write a new chapter. I got back home a few hours ago and wanted to continue the story, but my mind just isn't cooperating right now. So, I’ve decided to take a break for the day. I’ll post the next chapter tomorrow.
We’re getting close to the end of this arc! That being said, I’d love to hear from you:

P.S. – I’m planning to introduce a time-skip soon for Alaric to age 14, but I’d love to hear your thoughts on his growth beyond that.

I feel that the most important part of a power progression story is not actually the power progression but showing what it means. Like sure everyone can see that one number is bigger than an other, but without showing how that affects what can be done and how it changes ones place in the world, it can become kinda empty. This also means that if all enemies scale to match exactly the MC, then have the MC even gotten stronger. Sometimes it can have a great effect to show how en earlier read boss level opponent is now easy. Numbers in a litrpg can become a bit of a crutch when compared to other progression fantasy types because it is so much easier to just write a bigger number instead of what is necessary in other subgenres. But if the other parts are there then numbers go up is a great way to build anticipation for the moment where the effect is shown. But that anticipation dies if the numbers never mean anything.

Ok, full disclosure…I picked plot, start growing up, and number zoom…kinda in that order. Plot is always necessary…and you have done some good work with settings, and surroundings….especially in the beginning. I want him to grow up more…not sure how you would work the time slip…maybe lost in a dungeon, lost in a forest, lost in cultivation world..trapped in tree…all you. Number zoom is just dessert…and the resultant impact of the number zoom is a bit of fun. You have pushed out a lot right now, if need to take a week to gain some sanity…go for it. ✌️

lmao, i find it funny how we are all in agreement. we love watching numbers go brrrr. i like number is higher then last chapter number... in all seriousness as long as we have enough power progression and actual story progression(where stuff actually happens not just like a spar) then i think we will all be happy-youve been a great author so far keep it up

I agree my favorite part is the growth and hashing out of the power system in these stories. Im hopeful that the witch threat and political play at the academy will give some reasons for the urgency and reason behind leveling and motives. I also hope we get a good baseline for other “elites” and nobles his age at the academy to see how big the gap really is

I feel the current power progression aspects are too dense. Don't get me wrong, it's interesting and well thought out, and I like numbers going up as much as the next guy, but it feels like too much of the plot revolves around power progression. It's still interesting to read, but most stories I've read that have power progression as the central plot focus tend to get boring after the first few milestones are met. At that point, it can be difficult to broaden the plot focus, it's other aspects not fortified enough to stand without the power progression. I really like this story and I am hopping that won't happen.
