A Simple Before and After

It's about twenty minutes until midnight and I just finished work for today. I wanted to show you all something before I take ride on the dream express.
Whenever I work on revision or replacer content, I often feel guilty because it's not "new." There aren't any new story lines or plot threads or animations or big reveals - it's the same content, just retold. Falling behind on content like this is the worst feeling, because it makes it seem like I'm wasting time on something that won't matter in the long run. I stick with it, though, because it's important for me to remember that every part of the game, from the things I made back in 2019 to the renders I'm creating now, are all part of the same story. Here is a before and after shot of an image in the game right now that you've all scene and what will be replacing it in the future release:
Some of my earliest work. The original hospital scene took two weeks to finish. None of the furniture rendered properly, which is why their textures are gone. Missus Powell was in her first incarnation, and since I had no idea how to edit the skin, I whited around the screen with light to eliminate the green tone on her. I also made the light the color of the sun, which dyed her orange. A little darker, and she'd be rocking a brunette Starfire look. Her eyes are shadowed a small, and the light from the back is so bright it's causing artifacting in her hair. It's her old outfit, and at the time I was obsessed with making the camera the same height as the protagonist's head, so she's too small in the frame.
