also same I had no clue about any of the references, so that was super cool to see how much effort went into making the movie with actual racers and other movies being depicted. the crew picked up on literally everything it seems.

watching this movie as kids had me and my cousins infatuated with route 66 hahah. still to this day we talk about doing a route 66 road trip.

Haven’t watched the reaction yet so interested in your guys thoughts seen MQ give it a 5 so there is that personally I enjoyed the 1st movie not a favorite probably ranks pretty low if I were to rate my favorite Disney/Pixar movies but enjoyable don’t really like the sequels though kind of wished this was a one and done movie

This was always a Disney/Pixar miss for me. Idk why, I just find It boring.

My son was 1 when this came out on DVD, and that scene where they show the town's decline after the interstate was built hit him right in the feels. I wasn't prepared for him to start bawling in the middle of such a fun movie, and I don't think he understood exactly why it was sad, but he got that it WAS sad, and it just wrecked him. He was obsessed with this movie for like a year.

Catch me on the right day, and the end of the race with The King will absolutely destroy me. I will at the very least tear up every time. My son has Autism and he adores these movies. (And the two Planes movies, both criminally underrated IMO). Sometimes he will, hyper fixate on a particular scene, roll it back and play it over and over again. And one time, it was that last scene, the end of the race, the skidding to a stop before the checkered flag, and then the roar of the crowd after and I had to walk away for a sec cause I absolutely lost it.
