A curse of loneliness (+ a little story)
🕑 Added 2025-03-06 00:56:55 +0000 UTCThe cursed werewolf skeleton wandered through the snowy mountains, its hollow bones creaking with each step. The wind howled through the rocky peaks, but the werewolf heard none of it... except the distant pull of the full moon above.
Empty sockets gazed into the sky, seeing nothing, yet somehow sensing the moon's pale light. The curse bound him to its cycle, a ghostly memory of what he once was. He couldn't feel the cold, in fact, he couldn't really feel anything: even the hunger that tormented him before was long gone now. Only one thing remained true for him - the deep sense of loneliness, carved deeper than marrow.
The skeleton's sharp claws scraped across the frozen rocks. His jaw creaked open, and from that toothy maw came the howl. There was no breath to carry his voice, no throat to give it shape, but still, a chilling sound pierced the silence.
Somewhere deep in his half rotten bones, he believed the moon might still hear him.

The last several days were pretty rough on me, Lime and my sister-in-law. Her sick cat named Bo couldn't fight the illness anymore, and we had to put him down. He passed surrounded by us, people who loved him. And now we're supporting each other and the rest of our cats (who also became very clingy and are not leaving our side).
Pets are just always so hard to lose. I needed some time to gather myself. And this art, even though it is not related to anything, is a sort of sublimation of my emotions.

No, she regenerates

Reading over this creature's inability to howl or give any clear indications of life is so gut wrenching. You captured that feeling so well in the image and in text. I'm hoping for the best for your and yours

A hauntingly beautiful piece. I'm sorry for the loss of your family member, because that's what pets truly are.

Hopefully this is not Raha's fate 😭

At least Bo was actually loved. This poor creature is howling for something that doesn't even care about them.
Bones
A wonderful piece. The longing for something so far away feels often to real.
