ROGUES | S01E02: The Wall
🕑 Added 2018-02-15 06:28:01 +0000 UTC ROGUES | S01E02: The WallOSWALD: Yes. Yes I see. No, I- Yes. But surely... No. No that will be all. Goodbye.
HARVEY: Not good?
EDWARD walks in.
OSWALD: No Harvey. Not good.
EDWARD: What did I miss?
OSWALD: Our man Crane's little breakdown is growing ever more costly.
EDWARD: How costly is costly?
OSWALD: Harvey?
HARVEY: 16.5 million dollars.
EDWARD winces.
EDWARD: I didn't realise the going rate for silence was so high.
OSWALD: Welcome to Luthor's America, dear Edward.
HARVEY: Payin' off the guards was easy enough, what was left of 'em. But the GCN'll do anything to make Oswald look the fool in his first month. 'Specially that new reporter that got sniffin' around.
EDWARD: New reporter? What do they look like?
HARVEY: No clue. No one can make his face.
OSWALD: So as you can imagine, I have had to consider some strange bedfellows.
EDWARD:Anyone I know?
OSWALD: People with money and influence; you’ll find that rather narrows down the list.
EDWARD: I imagine we’re talking both sides of the law, then?
HARVEY: We can neither confirm nor deny that.
EDWARD: That answers that question. And leaping into bed with these people is the best course of action?
OSWALD: It’s the only course of action currently under advisement.
EDWARD: I see.
OSWALD: But to successfully pull this off, we need to secure the rogue element. We need Jonathan Crane back on his leash and under our proverbial thumb.
HARVEY: We have men stationed outside his apartment.
EDWARD laughs.
HARVEY: Think it's funny, do ya?
EDWARD: You actually think he's still in town? Reckless though he may be, not even Jonathan would return to his last known address.
OSWALD: Do you know where he is?
EDWARD: His truck was gone from the lot - my bet is that Johnny turned tail and ran home. HOME home.
OSWALD: And do you know where HOME home is?
EDWARD: I am… reliably informed.
OSWALD: Then I am entrusting you with the task of returning him to us.
EDWARD: Certainly! Any other Herculean tasks you wish me to complete while I'm at it? Perhaps I could punch out Superman along the way?
OSWALD: I don't care for your tone, Edward.
HARVEY: Also, Superman ain't here.
EDWARD: Harvey, just... Augh. I'm sorry, Oswald, but...
EDWARD sighs.
EDWARD: He's not going to come willingly. He’ll have buried himself in a hole that’s a metric fifth deep.
HARVEY: So dig him up, then. And all this over a fucking bird. Tell him to man up, get over it, and get his ass back here.
EDWARD: Oh yes, Harvey, because healthy coping mechanisms are your specialty.
HARVEY: What did you say?
EDWARD: Nothing I care to repeat slowly.
HARVEY: Say that again, to our face!
EDWARD: Which. One.
OSWALD: Enough! There are weightier issues about! We can't spend our time...
A beeping sound can be heard.
OSWALD: What the devil is that?
An EXPLOSION rocks the office.
Footsteps and gun-cocking is heard.
GUARD ONE: Down! Put your weapons down!
GUARD TWO: Hands where we can see!
GUARD ONE: Area secured, Ms. Waller.
WALLER: Gentlemen.
OSWALD: Ms. Waller - still a fan of the needlessly dramatic entrance, I see. And you can be sure I will be sending you a bill for that door. Macassar Ebony is not cheap!
WALLER: Can it, Cobblepot.
WALLER paces the room.
WALLER: I don't want to interrupt your little boy's club, so I'll be brief.
EDWARD: That'd be a first.
WALLER punches EDWARD across the face.
EDWARD: Ow! Come on!
WALLER: Where's Jonathan Crane?
OSWALD: Jonathan... Crane? I assure you, I have no idea as to his whereabouts. Has he done something I should be aware of?
WALLER: On October 31st, 2017, Arkham Asylum was placed on lockdown. During this time, thirteen guards were killed, including one of my top men.
EDWARD: At least we know she doesn't mean Bolton.
WALLER is silent.
EDWARD: No. Really?
WALLER: Something I should know, Mr. Nygma? Or is it... Nashton?
EDWARD is silent.
WALLER: Have it your way.
WALLER makes for the door, turns.
WALLER: But I will find out what happened in Arkham. I will find out what happened to Bolton, and I WILL find Jonathan Crane.
WALLER turns to GUARD TWO.
WALLER: We're done here.
GUARD TWO: Let's move! Move out!
WALLER and her GUARDS leave.
OSWALD: Edward. Do you KNOW where Jonathan Crane is?
EDWARD: Yes.
OSWALD: Bring him to me.
EDWARD: He won’t listen to me.
OSWALD: Then get a - stronger argument.
EDWARD: Right.
OSWALD: Harvey, get me Bruce Wayne.
