The Riddler Speaks - Casefile #0123
🕑 Added 2017-10-26 15:00:03 +0000 UTC TRS - Casefile #0123: House CallEDWARD: One more step - before I see the big man. (knocks on a door, whistles)
CAROL ELLIS: (opens the door) Can I help you?
EDWARD: Is Samuel in?
CAROL ELLIS: Of course! Please - come in.
EDWARD: Thank you kindly.
(Door closes behind EDWARD)
CAROL ELLIS: Samuel? There's - someone here to see you.
DOCTOR ELLIS: Thank you dear, I - Edward.
EDWARD: Doctor! Just the man I wanted to see.
DOCTOR ELLIS: Carol, could you leave us, please?
EDWARD: No, no, no, no, no - please stay! I insist. Let's sit down. Ah. Well. Isn't this nice? Such a wonderful home you have. A cosy, perfect world; but then hey - on LexCorp payroll, how could you NOT live comfortably?
DOCTOR ELLIS: What do you want, Edward?
EDWARD: Uh, it would be a shame if someone were to, say, meddle with your world. Wouldn't it, Doctor? To take away that which you hold most dear? I just - I just couldn't imagine losing something like that. (laughs) Of course, I don't need to imagine. Do I? Doctor?
CAROL ELLIS: Samuel?
EDWARD: It's unfortunate, really. To lose it all and have no idea why.
(EDWARD fatally shoots CAROL ELLIS; she falls to the floor)
DOCTOR ELLIS: Carol! Oh God, what have you done? CAROL!
EDWARD: Riddle me this, Samuel Ellis. All the money in the world couldn't buy me, but I'm carelessly spent. When you're having fun, I fly by, but you'll only miss me when I'm gone. What am I?
DOCTOR ELLIS: You - you - you - sick bastard! Luthor will string you up for this!
EDWARD: (hissing inhale) Ooh, sorry, but that was nowhere near the right answer. It's TIME, Doctor. And yours. Is. Up.
DOCTOR ELLIS: No. Edward - please!
(EDWARD fatally shoots DOCTOR ELLIS; he falls to the floor. EDWARD starts to whistle, and leaves)
