🕑 Added 2024-08-22 13:34:30 +0000 UTCChapter 38 Master, can you please stop spanking me?
Tang Yuanwei's strength was only at the mid-stage of the Qi Refining period.
It was precisely because his talent and strength were lacking that he was sent out to do business and gather resources for the family.
Running into Lu Shaoqing was just bad luck for him.
Compared to Lu Shaoqing, the gap was too large.
Lu Shaoqing easily took control of the situation.
"Let me see what good stuff you have," Lu Shaoqing said, grinning as he began to ransack Tang Yuanwei's belongings.
The first thing he grabbed was, of course, the storage ring.
After wiping off the imprint on it, Lu Shaoqing injected his spiritual energy into the ring. He trembled with excitement as he discovered what was inside.
"Jackpot!"
The ring was filled with a pile of spirit stones. A quick sweep with his divine sense revealed the total.
"Seventeen thousand six hundred and one low-grade spirit stones."
"Jackpot, jackpot!"
Lu Shaoqing's eyes gleamed in the darkness.
The storage ring contained nothing else, just that pile of spirit stones.
Although he found it odd, Lu Shaoqing didn't dwell on it.
These spirit stones were his now.
After thoroughly searching and finding nothing else of value, Lu Shaoqing walked away with a satisfied grin, leaving Tang Yuanwei lying on the ground in nothing but his undergarments.
"This trip was worth it. I got to vent my sister's anger and made a nice profit."
"Totally worth it."
Lu Shaoqing was very pleased with himself.
He felt no guilt at all for robbing Tang Yuanwei.
Not to mention that Tang Yuanwei had been making inappropriate advances towards Xiao Yi, trying to flirt with her.
He had only informed Tang Yuanwei of Xiao Yi's location, knowing she was an ordinary person, yet Tang Yuanwei rushed over immediately.
This alone was enough to prove Tang Yuanwei wasn't a good person.
Dealing with someone like that, Lu Shaoqing felt completely justified.
Over ten thousand spirit stones—enough to make up for the three thousand spirit stones he had lost.
With a big smile, Lu Shaoqing pulled out a small notebook. "Let's find the next target."
It wasn't until the next day that Lu Shaoqing, thoroughly satisfied, returned to Tianyu Peak.
"This night was incredibly profitable, haha..."
"You brat, where have you been?"
As soon as he returned, he was caught by his master, Shao Cheng, for a scolding.
"You let your junior sister enter the Sword Cave, and you didn’t keep an eye on her?"
"What if something had gone wrong?"
Lu Shaoqing replied, "Master, what are you worried about?"
"Do you think I'm like Senior Brother? The messes he makes are nothing like mine."
Shao Cheng angrily retorted, "No matter how confident you are, you must always be cautious."
"I've told you countless times, you must be careful and never get arrogant."
Lu Shaoqing said, "You should tell that to Senior Brother. I’ve noticed his tail is starting to wag a little too high lately."
Shao Cheng replied, "Your Senior Brother is the least of my worries."
"He worries about me more than I worry about him."
"Alright, alright," Lu Shaoqing said, in high spirits, not bothering to argue with Shao Cheng. "Senior Brother is almost catching up to you, and you still have the time to lecture me?"
Seeing Lu Shaoqing's demeanor, Shao Cheng grew suspicious.
"Something's off. You’re acting strange."
He looked at Lu Shaoqing warily. "What did you do last night?"
"What kind of trouble did you get into?"
Lu Shaoqing feigned hurt. "Master, how could you think such things about your beloved disciple?"
"Can't you think of something good for once?"
Shao Cheng replied, "I can't. I know exactly what kind of person you are."
"Usually, you're lazier than a lump of dung, not even moving if lightning strikes."
"But last night, you went down the mountain. You must have done something."
Shao Cheng knew his disciple well.
Normally, when he started to scold Lu Shaoqing, the boy would quickly argue back, diverting the topic.
But today, Lu Shaoqing hadn't retorted once.
That was enough to make Shao Cheng suspicious.
Lu Shaoqing chuckled, "Master, don’t you usually not care what I do?"
"Why are you so concerned now?"
Shao Cheng replied irritably, "I couldn’t care less whether you live or die, but don't get yourself into big trouble."
Lu Shaoqing laughed, "Master, you say you know me, so you should know I'm not the kind to cause trouble."
"There won't be any problems. You can relax."
Shao Cheng thought about it and agreed. This disciple of his hated trouble.
Whatever he did, he always made sure to cover his tracks, ensuring no trouble would come back to him.
Shao Cheng said, "That's for the best."
As for whatever his disciple had done, he didn't ask further.
This was his disciple, after all. Even if he had committed murder or arson, Shao Cheng wouldn't interfere.
This disciple always had his reasons for what he did; he would never act without purpose.
"I'm going to cultivate. You stay here and keep an eye on your junior sister. Don’t let her get into danger."
Lu Shaoqing replied, "Alright, alright, there won't be any problems."
As Shao Cheng turned to leave, Lu Shaoqing instinctively asked, "Oh, Master, do you have any more Tianji tablets?"
His Tianji tablet had been destroyed, and the one he had 'borrowed' from Shao Cheng had also been destroyed.
He hadn't had a chance to get a new one yet.
Shao Cheng had almost forgotten about it, but hearing this, his anger flared up again.
"I'm going to kill you, you little brat!"
With a wave of Shao Cheng's hand, Lu Shaoqing suddenly found himself unable to move.
Seeing Shao Cheng's furious expression, Lu Shaoqing realized he had messed up.
This was the Tianji tablet that his master's old flame had given him in a dream.
It was bad enough that he had 'borrowed' it, but to end up destroying it...
"Master, what are you going to do?"
"Master, let's talk this out. It's just a Tianji tablet, isn't it?"
"Let's talk this out..."
Shao Cheng sneered, "How long has it been since I properly disciplined you?"
"I almost forgot. You've gotten more and more out of hand, so today I'm going to give you a good beating."
"Master, don’t be rash!"
Lu Shaoqing pleaded, "Master, it wasn't me who broke the Tianji tablet. It was Senior Brother!"
"You saw it yourself—it was him who broke it."
Shao Cheng snorted, "All I saw was you throwing it out as a shield."
Lu Shaoqing protested, "You stood there watching and didn’t intervene, so you can't blame me!"
"Is that so?"
Shao Cheng grabbed Lu Shaoqing like a puppet and pulled him in front of him.
Seeing a stick appear in Shao Cheng's hand, Lu Shaoqing shouted, "Can you not hit my butt?"
"I'm an adult now. Is there any point in hitting my butt?"
"Master, I was wrong. I'll compensate you, alright?"
"If I don't give you a beating today, I won't be able to get rid of this anger in my heart!"
