Lu Shaoqing said to Wang Yao, “Junior Brother Wang, don’t treat her as a senior sister. Don’t give her any special treatment; treat her like anyone else and work her hard.”
“If you can get something for nothing, why not take advantage of it?”
Wang Yao felt quite uneasy. “Senior Brother Lu, this…”
Wang Yao was just an outer disciple, and there was a significant gap between him and a core disciple.
Offending a core disciple could mean the end of his time in the Lingxiao Sect.
Lu Shaoqing said, “Don’t worry. If you don’t follow my orders, do you believe I can make it so you never become an inner disciple?”
This threat was more severe. Wang Yao, with a pained expression, said, “I…I understand.”
Lu Shaoqing patted him on the shoulder. “Don’t worry. If you do well, I’ll give you a surprise.”
“When you become an inner disciple, you can come to our Tianyu Peak.”
“Really?”
Wang Yao’s face lit up with excitement.
Tianyu Peak, where Ji Yan was, was a place many outer disciples dreamed of.
However, Tianyu Peak had very few people; previously, it had only three members, and even outer disciples who served them were not needed.
Many who became inner disciples and wanted to join Tianyu Peak had been rejected.
Wang Yao was thrilled. If he could join Tianyu Peak, it would be a tremendous advantage for him.
He immediately promised, “Senior Brother Lu, don’t worry. I know what to do.”
Lu Shaoqing said to Xiao Yi, “Go ahead and start working here today. Aim to repay the debt as soon as possible.”
Xiao Yi, pouting and unwilling, followed Wang Yao downstairs.
Fang Xiao, smiling, said to Lu Shaoqing, “Young Master Lu, you’re not making Xiao Miss work here just to repay the debt, are you?”
Lu Shaoqing shook his head. “Of course not.”
Fang Xiao thought to herself, *As expected, you’re not so shallow.*
Fang Xiao, with curious eyes, asked, “Then why?”
Lu Shaoqing took a step closer, his masculine presence becoming more noticeable.
Fang Xiao’s face turned red.
Lu Shaoqing lowered his voice and said, “Boss Fang, my junior sister will be working here. She’ll need to be paid, right?”
“I asked Wang Yao, and a regular employee here earns two thousand five hundred low-grade spirit stones a month.”
“My junior sister still owes you one thousand two hundred thirty low-grade spirit stones.”
“After working for a month, apart from repaying the debt, she will earn an additional one thousand two hundred seventy spirit stones, correct?”
Fang Xiao nodded. “You’ve calculated correctly.”
Lu Shaoqing continued, “Good. Then remember to give me her wages.”
Fang Xiao was stunned, her mouth hanging open and eyes wide. “W-why?”
Lu Shaoqing replied, “I’m poor, so I need my junior sister to work here to earn some money for me.”
Fang Xiao was at a loss for words.
*Is he serious?*
So, he intentionally made his junior sister work here to make money for himself?
*I’m not even this scheming as a boss.*
“Y-Young Master Lu, are you joking?”
Fang Xiao found it hard to connect this Lu Shaoqing with the decisive and calculating Lu Shaoqing she had encountered that night.
*Did I mistake him that night?*
*Could there be another side to him?*
Lu Shaoqing asked, “Do I look like someone who jokes around?”
Fang Xiao, struggling, said, “This… this isn’t appropriate, is it?”
After all, it was Xiao Yi who would be working, and her wages should rightfully go to her.
Moreover, Fang Xiao added, “She only needs to work for half a month to repay the debt, not a whole month.”
Lu Shaoqing insisted, “I want her to work here for a full month.”
“But the wages are for Miss Xiao.”
Fang Xiao said.
She suddenly felt that having Xiao Yi work here might not be a good thing.
Lu Shaoqing seemed to understand something and looked at Fang Xiao in shock. “Boss, are you trying to avoid giving her wages? Are you thinking of taking a cut?”
“Come on, you’re the boss of such a big restaurant. Are you really going to argue with me over this small amount of money?”
Fang Xiao suddenly felt that continuing this conversation with Lu Shaoqing was beneath her.
She said, “Fine, fine. I’ll do as Young Master Lu says.”
“Since I have other matters to attend to, I won’t keep you.”
With that, Fang Xiao hurriedly left, looking a bit flustered.
Dealing with him was too difficult.
This was another assessment Fang Xiao had of Lu Shaoqing.
Lu Shaoqing left, leaving Xiao Yi to work at the restaurant.
Xiao Yi was on the verge of tears. As the eldest daughter of the Xiao family, working as a waitress here would be a huge embarrassment. Her father would probably be furious if he found out.
But this was an order from her Second Senior Brother, who had been authorized by the Senior Brother.
She had no choice but to follow orders, as she couldn’t escape her Second Senior Brother’s commands.
Even though she was to work here as a waitress, she was very unhappy about it.
Within just one morning, she received several complaints from customers.
People of all kinds came here, and many spoke rudely or made lewd remarks, which made Xiao Yi so angry she felt like she might explode.
She had never been treated this badly before.
By the end of the day, Xiao Yi had shed countless tears.
Back in her room, she slammed the door shut, ignoring Lu Shaoqing.
Lu Shaoqing, however, didn’t mind. He leisurely read news using the Heavenly Secret Plate he had obtained from his master.
Xiao Yi, in her room, was deeply distressed.
Tears streamed down her face.
Today, as a waitress, she faced more humiliation than she had in her entire life.
“Stupid Second Senior Brother, dead Second Senior Brother, I’ll beat you to death…”
Xiao Yi pounded her pillow furiously, as if the pillow was Lu Shaoqing himself.
She wanted to destroy the pillow.
At that moment, a knock sounded at the door.
“Girl, are you asleep?”
It was her master, Shao Cheng.
“Master, not yet,” Xiao Yi quickly wiped her tears and opened the door. “Master, is something wrong?”
Shao Cheng stood outside the door, smiling warmly. “Have you been crying?”
Xiao Yi instinctively shook her head.
Shao Cheng said, “Your eyes are red, so don’t shake your head.”
Seeing Shao Cheng’s fatherly smile, Xiao Yi’s feelings of grievance instantly came pouring out.
Tears flowed freely again.
“Master, Second Senior Brother is bullying me.”
“Alright, don’t cry,” Shao Cheng patted her head gently. “Come with me to a place.”
