Update Post - 08/24/22
🕑 Added 2022-08-24 11:58:16 +0000 UTCAs promised here's an update of what our plans are for the future. We want to be pretty clear about what is coming up for Lost Case: Monster Girl Takeover and are pretty excited to actually get to work on certain things.
So what is our main goal in the future?
Well, we can't have you waiting too long on updates anymore. So we're going to tackle our work and publishing process a little differently. Instead of making updates like we did before, smaller scale updates are in order. You'll get to test and play things more often and see a lot of the progress being made in more detail.
Another thing we want to do is finally make our game, well, actually a game! Improving on movement, combat and adding fun features to play around with are in order and that will also be our next focus! It requires a lot of input from you as well so please let us know about your opinions on changes as they get released!
Current plans are to make combat a little more snappy, removing the block and instead having the parry on attack to make it a little more of a risky option to use. That being said, there were also plans on giving our main character a 3-hit combo as an attack so we have to figure out how to balance these two properties with each other.
Obviously re-building the current levels is a big part of that as well, which is why we are definitely going for it being tilebased. It just makes work much easier compared to what we wanted to try before. You will probably not notice too many changes about this though! Adding collectibles/chests, non-girl enemies to spice up gameplay a little more with simpler mechanics and more.
As a look much further into the future, we also plan on implementing other features such as a system that allows you to use drops from enemies to create new skills for the detective!
So those are the changes coming to the game for now. There are many more things to come maybe even in the patches just mentioned, like UI overhaul, a gallery, better visual and audio feedback and more. Certain things, such as the 3-hit combo, are subject to change depending on player feedback. We want to constantly evolve our game to the best it could be and if that's going back on a step we or you don't think works, so be it! So please look forward to it!
