He was abandoned as a baby and has had it rough before being adopted. He does hint at having two great female parental figures though he doesn't like talking about his past.
He was dealt many shitty cards and his final straw was his fiance cheating and leaving. Without anything left, no money, no house nothing he storms into a bar unhinged dead set on robbing it so that he can start over. Bakus there and defuses the situation with a sharp tongue and clever magic. He sends him away telling him its not worth it.
As kiri walks out hes hit by a car and killed. Baku quickly follows the car back to the park to see Toshi and endever deciding what to do. He tells them to hire kiri on and turn him, doesnt matter whether its werewolf or vamp. In the end he becomes a full demon.
Kiri is hired as the Ice Cream vendor at the park and works right next to bakugou whos the balloon boy. Though he had no say, he loves the job because he makes kids happy and tries to make the best of it. The more kiri thinks about not being able to go back to his old life the more insecure and irritated he begins to get. He blames the head of the park Mitsuki for bringing him back and owning his soul.
A demons emotions are hard to control so kiri ultimately snaps. He begins destroying the park in his enormous demon form. Baku decides the only way to stop him is to some clean.
He tells kiri that he hired him. Selling his soul in order to bring him back because he felt guilt over his initial deathโฆ.and he was cute okay? baku confesses hes grown to really like him.
Kiri is taken aback but hes a kind soul through it all and he forgives baku, at this point he knows the blonde as a close friend and can tell he meant no wrong.
But now hes terrified Mitsuki will be pissed at his actions but meeting her goes completely opposite. Shes ecstatic over the parks ratings and tourism booming even with broken rides. Masaru and Mitsuki easily adopt kiri into their family. He also gets promoted to scaring guests but he does like to work next to his bf selling ice cream from time to time.
Ultimately Mitsuki finds him a fitting devil to take her place someday.
