Devlog #046
🕑 Added 2024-10-06 23:39:00 +0000 UTCHello everyone, October has already begun. One of our favourite months of the year, to tell you the truth. And we are preparing a Halloween-themed comic for this time.
Writing
The script is 6k words long, there is still some work to do, but we hope to be able to close it as soon as possible. In this chapter, both Maske and Akane will delve a little deeper into their past. You can discover part of Maske's story and help Akane piece together some of the history with her ex and her missing son. While Kyeran is in a state that we'd better not tell you too much about yet.
We are also continuing to prepare the Witch Tales 1: Between the Seams document, to give it a new, more professional translation. This formatting correction is about halfway through and we hope to be able to order the translation later this month.
Art
We are working on the monthly Patreon comic right now. As soon as we're done with it, we'll start with the CGs for episode 12.2.
Our artwork for this episode, in principle, is quite small. We don't think we're going to need any new sprites or backgrounds. The objects, is something we are evaluating, mainly, in order to include more objects in the decoration mini-game and we anticipate that probably this new object will be related to food...
Even so, the CGs will take some time and will be the first thing we will tackle.
Programming
We have started debugging bugs, so if you find any, don't hesitate to let us know. On the other hand, we are also making some code corrections in Witch Tales for the upcoming translation we told you about before.
For the next episode, we expect to release a new object, which will need to be programmed. On the other hand, we are considering further improvements to the interface. The first one would be to add several accessibility features in the preferences menu, such as open dyslexic fonts, better access to automatic voice or being able to change the font size, etc. The second improvement is actually a derivative of this first one, and that is to try to unify a bit better all the Chronicles interior screen layouts.
We may start some of this work this month, but for the moment it is something we are evaluating.
Other
This Friday 11 October we will be holding an in-person event for the Premios Indie Games VI. We are considering generating a small print run of business cards for the event. Plus we'll find out if we make it to the next stage as, at least, finalists in the competition. Fingers crossed.
We are reconsidering more strongly than in previous times, to place ourselves on steam. We still have a lot of doubts about this, but we have taken up the paperwork again. Our main stumbling blocks, apart from considering when is the best time to put Chronicles there, were the trailer and the cover art. Two things we've managed to get off our to-do list recently. We know that steam is a much bigger marketplace than itch is, but its drawbacks are also bigger. These include sending the compilations 15 days before publication. Commitment dates that must be on the product, even if they are not defined, and so on.
We believe that, equally, none of these issues will be something that will take up too much of our time. With nothing more to tell you. We say goodbye until next month.

We hope so! It's been a long process and we're still working out technical things. But we really need more ways to make ourselves known. Thank you so much for the support as always!!! It warms our hearts to know that we have beautiful people helping us for so long <333

Ok, offering a game on steam really sounds more demanding, but I think that would definitely get even more people interested in your wonderful work! I'm moderately active on steam, so you would instantly have at least one fan & promoter 💪😘
