🕑 Added 2024-09-01 20:22:57 +0000 UTCHello everyone and happy September.
Today we celebrate another year since we launched the first chapter of Chronicles. A long time has passed since then, but we are still working with the same enthusiasm with which we started, only with much more knowledge. Surely, if we were to start the production of this game today, we would have approached it in a very different way. That doesn't mean we don't feel tremendously proud of what we have created and of the number of people who have decided to play it and support us. Thank you very much to all of you!
Writing
We are trying to contact our translator. We hope to do so this week or, if not, to find a solution within the same timeframe. In any case, this is the only thing left for patch 12.1. When we have some kind of closed and agreed solution, finally, we will be able to set a date. Thanks to Patreon we can look for an alternative solution without having to resort to more open calls. It's not ideal, but at least it's a solution. If in the future we manage to get back in touch with our translator, we will see how to approach things so that these problems don't happen again.
If anyone wonders whether this will have an impact on future patches, we can tell you that it won't. In any case, we think we can assume that we will be able to handle it. In any case, we think we can handle the production of the remainder of Chronicles. But we will see it as we go along, because the chapters do not have a set number of words, but adapt to the needs of the story, which is becoming more and more demanding.
On the other hand, we have opened the script for episode 12.2, corresponding to the humans, which is just over 2k words, but which we are working on, regardless of the release of its predecessor.
Art
We are now getting some work done before we start on the artwork for chapter 12.2, a chapter that we hope will not be too demanding in this respect. The cover that we showed you at the beginning of the year is in the colouring phase. And in a few days we hope to have it finished. It is one of our big pending tasks on our to-do list and we are finally going to be able to use it.
The CGs for episode 12.2 are not planned yet, nor are we expecting new scenarios and sprites, so, depending on how things go and how long it takes to plan and write the CG scenes, maybe we'll advance something from Witch Tales. As I say, it will depend on how the schedule goes. But our priority is still Chronicles.
Programming
The other small thing we have left to do is a sign at the start, as was done for the Christmas and Valentine's Day events, explaining the implementation of the mini-game decoration. It's not a job that will take more than one, maximum two days, so we are not worried about it.
Otherwise, we will continue to wait for the translation before we can put it into the engine.
On another note, which will not affect patch 11.1 unless it is delayed much longer than we plan and want it to be, is that we would like to add an extra menu in the settings to help with accessibility. That is, adding a font that helps dyslexic people read, being able to change the font size to help people who need it, and a more convenient and accessible way to access automatic voice reading. Let us know in the comments if you can think of anything else that you think would help accessibility or that you think would help you have a better gaming experience.
Other
This month, we are entering the ‘Indie Games Málaga’, for which we are working on a video for the contest. We don't think this is going to be something that will take a lot of time. Plus we have to submit it before the 10th. We just hope to have some good news in a couple of months. Getting the material to do it has been an adventure we weren't prepared for and it has reminded us that Chronicles has managed to sneak in as a finalist in other events. Something that, for some reason, we don't usually share, neither among our promotion, nor as a description in our game, and that maybe it's time to make it more noticeable in the future.
With nothing more to tell you, this is the summary and approach for the month of September. Best regards.
