The spookiest season officially kicks off! And we're here to tell you what we've been working on and what we plan to do during October. Are you ready?
- Writing
Episode 11.2 is still being written and is just over 60% complete. All the beginning has been sketched out and the 'event' around which the episode revolves and the endings dedicated to each of the main characters remain to be dealt with. Although we haven't made as much progress as we would have liked this month, we feel that we have tackled quite a few fronts and overall we have had a very productive month.
Although we're not particularly focused on making progress with Witch Tales right now, the second story is already over 20k words. Let's hope to give it another little push this month.
- Art
We are currently working on the comic for Patreon, after its publication we'll go back to the usual work queue that will start with the background editing and then we'll go for the three character CGs. There's nothing extra planned this month, neither for other games, nor for social media, nor for any seasonal event like Halloween. So we hope it will be noticeable in the overall progress of the game.
Although the survey on [memes] for RRSS is now closed, this will be moved to the work queue until we have an opening.
- Programming
The 'drag and drop' base for decorating the main character's rooms is ready. That doesn't mean that the work is finished, there's still a lot of design and formatting work to be done until all the elements are in sync. We still have room to finish this part, as it's planned in a couple of patches. However, this is also a huge step forward, since on this basis most of the changes we have to make are aesthetic. These changes will not only be part of the 'mini-game' found in the extras in the main menu, but will also permanently affect the backgrounds of the episodes, so that you can contribute to customising your story a bit more.
We plan to start introducing more expressions in the old episodes... As you may know, we started CHR with three expressions per character (which was very little) and we have been adding expressions until we have a total of seven. From now on, we'll be revising the old episodes to add more expressions and balance the whole thing out.
As for Kyeran's revamp, both his CGs and sprites have already been replaced in the code.
- Other
The [Tiktok] account has officially launched, although we won't deny that we are experiencing some difficulties with it. We're still considering the possibility of moving to a new account due to the fact that our videos aren't playing neither in the 'for you', nor in the 'following' tab of our followers. Nevertheless, the project, although with its cons, continues and will continue. The videos are ready and we have a solid grid dedicated to this social network.
On the other hand, we've decided to officially divert patreon's lore resources to a new section that you've already seen, which is the artbook section. So far we've already released the [Zihel] and [Ariel] pages. Depending on the material, we'll continue to show the rest of the main characters, the settings, secondary characters and more. We believe this change is for the better and not for the worse, but we're open to your feedback. As we said we plan to make the artbook available for a small fee on our account, but it will be free for all of you.
So much for this month's devlog. Best regards and take care, see you in November.
