Lore: Sewers and the Mutant Village
🕑 Added 2023-05-08 10:01:00 +0000 UTC
In the sewers of the submerged city, mutants have created their own society. Despite the hardships they face on a daily basis, the mutants have adapted and developed their own culture and way of life.
In these areas of the city, mutants are accepted and valued for their skills and strengths, as none of the mutants arrive with resources or assets. Any field of specialisation can be exploited, as can the qualities brought about by their physical changes. Despite the lack of light, many of the sewer residents have developed a special sensitivity to see in the dark.
Most of them work in structural maintenance. From the cleaning of general plumbing to the extension of habitable sections. Another small group is dedicated to the management and services of their own community: education, health, security... etc. And finally, there is another percentage of mutants who don't work at all - the sick, children and the elderly-. Coordination is essential to maintain stability and manage resources as efficiently as possible.
In exchange for maintenance work for the Base, the mutants obtain important resources such as medicine, food and raw materials for construction or for the production of various types of handicrafts. Despite being part of the Homelands Base, they have their own rules and laws and are self-governing.
The Coliseum
Ghoul rage is a problem that also affects mutants in these areas, but they have learned to control it and detect it quickly. Mutants with this disease are isolated and taken to the coliseum. A place set up for fights for entertainment. There are many detractors of this system, but also many supporters. Although the goal has always been to preserve and help all mutants, to this day there is no known cure for this condition and with resources stretched, it was decided that those with the ghoul rage were a problem to be solved. The fights are vicious and cruel, and although many choose to ignore such practices, it has also become a major form of entertainment. There is a betting-truque system around the coliseum fights. There are various forms of combat, but all of them are to the death.
