Happy start of August!
For us it means a return to the routine and to the production of Chronicles in all its glory. I hope that for you it means a few days of rest. In any case, we're here to tell you a bit about how we're doing and what we have in mind.
- Writing
There have been obvious delays in closing the episode. We underestimated the time this would take and the energies we would expend on the on-site events - which have greatly slowed down the schedule. But we promise that this problem will be solved shortly. Otherwise the schedule is similar to last month's. Close episode, correct it and fix it and send it to translation, and in the time we get this script back we'll continue to move forward with Witch Tales: Bone and Porcelain.
- Art
The new expressions are finished, you can see them in previous progress previews [1], [2] and [3]. We're still discussing whether or not to add expressions to Arael's sprite as an angel, we would have to add a couple of shadows and the sprite part would be closed. There are no new backgrounds and no additional objects.
The first CG is already in lineart, and it would be the one that corresponds to the image of Arael. Can you imagine which moment it corresponds to? We're sure you can get a small idea. As for the other two images, they're planned and will be next in the queue to be done.
We would like to focus on the game's cover art after the release of the episode. What do you think of this idea?
- Programming
Several small first sketches of the new, revamped gallery have started to be made, but as we've already warned, this will be an overhaul that won't be seen in the next patch.
- Other
Unfortunately, we have to announce that no, we did not win the competition we entered. Even so, we are very happy with our honourable 4th place. It was a category that wasn't only hard-fought, but with great productions. If we have to lose, we should at least lose knowing that we did things right and that our rivals were up to the task. Although the money was very good to sustain us, we have enough reserves to consider buying more equipment or a second pass for Steam. We'll let you know when we make a decision on what to do next.
Yes, Steam is our main focus, along with Chronicles. Thank you for your invaluable support and if you have any suggestions or comments, feel free to do so. We are always willing to listen to the voices of all of you who are involved with us. Thank you very much and see you soon.
