Peaceful day?!
🕑 Added 2022-08-29 14:48:37 +0000 UTCAfter returning to class, all girls started reading through their books with interest. Since there was not much he could do there and he could answer their questions later, Seth stood up and walked out of the classroom.
While thinking about how he could mess with Maya again, he passed by classroom ten. An idea came to him and, after using creation energy to make an empty book, he knocked on the door again.
“Enter.”
Hearing Hollie’s voice from inside, Seth smiled and entered the classroom before saying: “Do you mind if I listen in on your lecture again, Teacher Hollie?”
Hollie nodded and motioned for him to sit at her desk before continuing her lecture like nothing happened.
Three hours later, he had corrected all her mistakes using the system and used creation energy to write the revised theory on the book in his hand. Since it was around noon, Hollie released the students from class.
Once everyone was gone, she turned towards Seth and asked: “Anything else I can help you with, Teacher Seth?”
“You can just call me Seth. Teacher Seth is a mouthful,” said Seth with a smile, to which Hollie replied politely: “You can call me Hollie as well. I don’t mind.”
Seth nodded and asked while pushing the book toward her: “I wonder if you will be interested in some notes I have about your lecture.”
Hollie raised an eyebrow before bringing a chair with her air energy from the class and sitting down in front of the desk. When she was about to pick up the book, Seth said: “I trust that whatever is written inside would not be added to the compendium. You can still add them to your lecture with ease.”
Seeing her nod, Seth removed his hand and waited for her to read a few pages. Hollie moved her long hair behind her ears so it won’t get in the way and started reading. She was just curious at first, even frowning from time to time because of many statements contradicting her own understandings, but the more she read, the more she understood she was the one in the wrong.
She was soon completely immersed in the book in front of her that even forgot about Seth.
Seth didn’t mind it, as he just stared at her face while cultivating. This was his gift to her, the person who opened the path to godhood for him. She was his first true teacher in his previous life.
Since the book was so thick and she took it slow so that she could understand and compare it to her own theories, by the time she was done, it was already late in the evening.
Closing the book, she just muttered a simple: “Amazing…”
“What do you think?” asked Seth, noticing that she was done.
Hollie just remembered Seth was there and was slightly embarrassed to have lost herself in the book for so long. Nodding toward him, she asked: “Did you write this?”
“Indeed.”
“Where did you learn all this?” asked Hollie next, not being able to believe he would have such deep knowledge in an element he didn’t even have an affinity for.
“That’s a secret I can’t tell you, and I hope you won’t speak to anyone else about this.”
Hollie nodded before looking him in the eyes and asking directly: “Do you know how one can increase air density and speed?”
Seth knew she was having trouble breaking through the fourth shell. As far as he can remember, she broke through just before he left for the north in the past timeline.
“I do, but as much as I want to help you break through the fourth shell, I can’t give you that information yet.”
Her usually tired eyes seem to gain some life when she heard he did indeed know, and she asked: “Is there anything you want in return?”
Seth sighed and said: “Alright, but I have two conditions.”. seeing the hopeful look in her eyes, he didn’t want to refuse her, considering all she had done to help him.
“I’m listening.”
“First one. I want you to keep your breakthrough a secret from everyone...”
“Done.”, she replied before he could even finish. “What’s the second one?”
“Go on a date with me.”
“Fin… Huh?” Hollie was stunned. She expected him to ask for money, vials, or anything else. But a date?
“Please define what you mean by a date.” She wanted that information, but she was not willing to sell her body for it. She knew she would eventually break through on her own.
“We’ll have some food in the city, maybe walk around and visit some places before returning. Nothing like what you’re worried about.”
“That’s fine with me, but why?”
“Because I’m afraid you will eventually go blind if you only spend your time reading books. You need to get out of the house some more.” He knew she only spent her time in class and her room, reading through compendium books, so while he was having some other interest, he still felt like she really needed some time away from her books.
“Alright. Deal.” Said Hollie while extending her slim hand for a handshake.
“Deal.” Replied Seth as he shook her hand back.
“Since you made a lot of mistakes on your foundation, I will have to be there when you break through. This way I can use my destruction energy to make sure nothing bad happens during the process.”
“How would you do that?” asked Hollie, not understanding how destruction would help stabilize her source in case it was about to explode.
“Destruction energy is a lot more complicated than you would expect. Just trust me, while the chances are low, it would be a shame if anything happened.” He needed creation energy as well but didn’t tell her that.
Hollie nodded and said: “When are we doing it? I already filled the fourth shell to the brim with air energy.”
“I’ll give you a book on the theory tomorrow morning and I’ll help you break through in the evening. You should be done with the theory by then. You can come to my room at the dormitory.”
“What about the date? I need to announce to the students I’m taking the day off.”
“We can go after you finish class so you won’t have to bother. How about the next day after your breakthrough?”
Hollie agreed, and they spoke a bit more before Seth walked out and started heading back to his classroom.
He expected the students to be gone, but what he didn’t expect was to find an annoyed headmistress at his door. Seeing him approach, she said: “Brat, did you forget about our deal? And where were you? I’ve been waiting here for hours.”
‘How long did she wait?’
<4 hours and 23 minutes.>
‘Just as dedicated as I remember.’
Seth sighed and said: “It’s not that I forgot, but I’ve been busy and didn’t find the time to do it.”
“Oh? What kept you so busy? You barely have any students.”
An idea came to Seth, and he frowned before saying: “That teacher, Maya. She always comes to harass me and barely gives me any peace. I even have to leave my class so that she won’t embarrass me in front of my students.”
Iris immediately flared at Maya’s name. “That harlot. I can’t believe she would dare to lay her hands even on a kid.”
“Yeah… ever since you sent me into her room with that letter, it was like I’ve entered a wolf’s den. She would harass me, ask me to do stuff for her, come to my room at night, and so on. I barely have any peace headmistress.” Said Seth while faking a tired and wronged expression.
He knew they were friends and trusted each other, but because of their opposite personalities, they would always be at each other’s throats and constantly bicker over everything.
“I’ll deal with her, don’t worry. Now hurry and keep your end of the deal.”
“Let’s go someplace else first.” Said Seth, not willing to take the ticking time bomb inside his classroom where the girls’ books were.
“Where would we go? Isn’t this your class?”
“I gave the key to my student to lock when she left so I don’t have it on me. How about we head to my room since I didn’t have time to clean my office? I also have the book with the source creation theory in there.”
The headmistress nodded, and they both headed for the teacher’s dormitory. When they reached the door, Seth turned towards the headmistress and made an embarrassed expression as he said: “Do you mind if I go in first? I think I left some underwear lying around.”
“Go, go. Hurry! I already lost a lot of time.” Said the headmistress as she rested her back against the wall.
Seth quickly entered the room and talked to his system.
‘Show me the information the Delurge kingdom has on destruction source creation.’ Since she was outside, he didn’t have time to make a document full of mistakes himself so, stealing from others worked just as well.
After the document appeared in his vision, he started quickly creating a book on it. Since it was not that long, he finished in about ten minutes. The headmistress already knocked twice on the door during this time, but he told her to wait every time.
Opening the door, he said: “Sorry about that. There was something indecent that I had to clean.”. He also made sure he reddened his cheeks so that she would think he was ashamed of something.
The headmistress made a face full of disgust and undid her shoes before walking inside. This surprised Seth, but he quickly remembered some nobles might also have carpets on the floors of their houses.
“This carpet feels quite soft. Where did you buy it? It’s nothing like the one I have in my room.” Asked the headmistress.
“I have a friend who makes fabric products, and he made it for me.” Said Seth, not able to find a better excuse.
The headmistress nodded and walked to the bed. Just as she was about to sit down, she remembered something and asked with a slightly red face: “You didn’t… here, did you?”
Seth shook his head while also blushing and said: “no, it was….”
“I don’t need to know.”, replied the headmistress, cutting his words short as she sat down. When her bottom entered deep inside the mattress, she opened her eyes wide and said: “Did your friend do this as well?”
Seth nodded and said: “Yeah.”
“Ask him to make one for me as well. The price doesn’t matter.”
Seth nodded, deciding he would make her one as well. With all the furniture he’s been making these days, he figured he would be known as the God of Furniture in the future.
“Alright. Let me know when it’s done and how much it costs. Now show me the theory.”
Seth grabbed the book he had placed strategically on the table before handing it to her. The headmistress skimmed through before nodding and saying: “Looks like the real deal. I’ll read it at home. Now, let me do some more experiments.”
Seth sighed and asked: “Do you mind if I sit down as well?”
Seeing her nod, he laid down on the bed, keeping some distance from her, and summoned a ball of destruction energy, letting her do her thing as he closed his eyes and focused on cultivating.
Two hours later, as he was already losing his patience, there was a small knock on the door. Frowning, he wondered who it was, and he stood up to open the door when he heard a rattling sound from the lock.
Realization hit him and he sat back down, getting ready for when the two forces of nature would meet.
