Vials supply
🕑 Added 2022-08-29 14:46:35 +0000 UTCThe lecture only lasted for 20 minutes. After five minutes, Maya also calmed down and sat down in a slutty posture while listening to Seth’s words. She frowned, finding some wrong stuff in his lecture, but the more she listened, the more she found what he was talking about might be the truth and she was the one in the wrong.
She even fixed her posture and started listening more carefully as time went on.
“…. And that marks the end of my lecture. Please forgive me for any inadequacies, as I am still a new teacher. If you have questions, you can find me later in class 27. Thank you.” finished Seth with a small bow towards the class.
After being done with his lecture, he motioned for Leora to come up. He then bowed to the lost-in-thought Maya as well and walked out.
“What’s your opinion of the academy?” asked Seth on his way back to class, curious about what Leora thought.
Leora pondered for a moment before saying bluntly: “Not bad, but that teacher is a whore.”
Seth fell into a coughing fit at her answer. Once he calmed down, he asked: “What did she do?”
“She kept swapping her legs while allowing everyone to have a look at her panties. When she passed through the class, she would touch some students on the back of their necks. As I was focused on gathering light energy, she even came to me and blew in my ear..” Leora looked quite frustrated as she complained about Maya’s misconduct.
Seth was happy to see some emotion on Leora’s face and nodded to show his agreement: “That is how she is indeed, but that might not be a bad thing.”
“What do you mean?” asked Leora back with a raised eyebrow.
“I can easily add her to my harem.” Said Seth with a smirk, knowing full well she didn’t know what that was.
Leora looked like she wanted to ask something more, but they were already at the door to his class, so she stopped herself. Opening the lock, the two stepped in and Seth took his place at the teacher’s desk, with Leora taking a seat in class.
The teachers would usually end class at about noon so that the students could spend the rest of the day trying to feel their energy, but Seth continued teaching Leora about light energy all the way past noon. The teachers at the academy were only responsible for helping the students form a source, but Seth’s plans for Leora extended far further than that.
At around two pm, a barely audible knock came from the door.
Stopping his lecture, Seth said: “Enter.”
The door opened slowly and a petite, skinny girl walked in. She looked once around the classroom with interest, amazed at the beautiful desks and carpet, before fixing her eyes on Seth and saying: “Teacher Seth. I wanted to wait for your lecture to be over, but I have to go soon so…”
“No problem. What can I help you with?” interrupted Seth with a kind smile. She was one of the fish that bit the bait set up by him in Maya’s class.
Rebecca Howell. The daughter of a small-time noble in the capital. She was also one of his classmates in his past life and he knew her as a quiet but smart girl. She graduated and became an ascended two years before him.
The girl asked a few more questions about the lecture he gave in class. At the start, she was quite shy and barely spoke, but seeing Seth answer her questions so easily, she got bolder and started asking other questions, even from outside the spectrum of his lecture.
Being forgotten by the two, Leora just started gathering energy to form her source in silence.
Seth and Rebecca kept speaking for two hours until Seth asked: “Didn’t you have something to do?”
Rebecca’s eyes became as round as saucers once she realized she got so enthralled in the lecture that she has forgotten. She bolted to the door, stopped and turned for a quick bow toward Seth, before bolting right out.
Seth chuckled and looked at the practicing Leora.
“How is your source creation progress?”
Opening her eyes, Leora replied: “I should be done in a month.”
“That’s too slow. Go to your room and I’ll see if I can get my hands on some energy vials.”
Nodding, she stood up and walked out. Left alone in the classroom, Seth had a big decision to make.
“Do I steal some vials or steal some money to buy some vials? Market or Academy?”
There were two ways one could get vials in the capital. Either buy them from the black market or get some from the academy. Since the demand is so high, a vial costs about ten gold coins in the market. This price was ten times bigger than of the ones in the town, but their purity was also better, at around 70% on average. At 100 gold per vial, one could even get a specialized energy vial, like water energy vials, fire energy vials, and so on.
In the academy, vials were rewards for showing major accompaniments. A student would receive ten vials once they ascend, while the teachers would receive specialized vials for different accomplishments, like having an ascended in their class, mending some incorrect theories, etcetera. Specialized vials were useless to him since he didn’t use any of the energies available on the market.
His best bet was the black market, but now that his sources have stabilized, he couldn’t turn in small animals or stuff like that to steal money with ease, and the more energy his sources gathered, the harder would be to fix the damage.
“Let’s see if I can charm my fellow teachers out of some vials first.” Said Seth under his breath as she closed his classroom and headed for the teachers’ dormitory. Going to steal any time he needed vials sounded like a pain, so he came up with another idea.
The teachers’ dormitory was mixed with both men and women living in the same building. Since most men who ascended would usually head to war to earn money, or create specialized vials for the black market rather than remain a teacher here, the dormitory mostly had women.
Once he arrived in front of door number three, he knocked on it and waited for an answer. The door opened after a minute and a frowning Maya appeared at the door.
Seeing it was the brat that dared to tease her in class, her frown deepened and she asked: “You have some gals to show here after what you did today in class.”
Putting on an innocent expression, Seth asked: “In class? What does Teacher Maya mean? I can’t recall.”
Seeing that droplets of water started appearing on the door frame, Seth raised his arms high and said: “Peace, peace. I come in peace.”
He might have six sources, and he might have been a God in the previous timeline, but he only started gathering energy a few months ago. If Maya launched an attack, while she would not kill him, leaving him incapacitated for a few weeks was not out of the question. And using space energy to avoid the attack was even worse.
“What do you want?” asked Maya in an uncharacteristically serious tone. Seth doesn’t remember ever seeing her this serious in his past life.
“I need some mixed energy vials.”
“And how is that my problem?”
“Can we speak inside? I have a deal for you.”
Maya frowned even harder, but seeing the innocent look in his eyes, she sighed and stepped aside for him to enter. She couldn’t understand why this kid was throwing her so much of her game.
The room was simple. A large bed near the window, a closet at the head of the bed, a bookcase on the side, and a table with two chairs. There were barely any personal items inside.
They both took a seat at the table and Seth said: “As I was saying, I need some mixed energy vials. Since getting them directly from the academy is impossible, and I might lose my license if I were found out buying from the black market, not that I have the money to, I wanted to make a deal with you. A teacher with such a long history in the academy would for sure have her way of getting her hands on some mixed vials.”
Maya remained silent and waited for him to continue. She, of course, had her way of getting her hands on a few vials.
“I can help you break through the fifth shell.”, said Seth, his tone turning dead serious.
Maya’s indifferent expression changed to a deadly serious one, and she looked carefully into his eyes, looking for any indicator he was lying. Seeing no sign he was lying and remembering his lecture in class, she asked: “How do you know I’m in the fifth shell?”
Seth smiled and didn’t answer. Of course, he used the World Records.
A source has nine shells, numbered from the inside to the outside. With each shell being broken, it will increase the amount of energy that can be stored inside while receiving several benefits.
At the second shell, water ascended could separate the water from their bodies and control its form.
Third shell: water manipulation in nature.
Fourth shell: increased water density, stronger attacks, and defense.
Fifth shell: changing water to ice.
Sixth shell: change water to vapors.
Seventh shell: imbue spirit inside the water energy.
Eighth shell: imbue body with water energy, turn body completely liquid.
Ninth shell: change water body shape at will, ability to reconstruct the body from even a drop of water as long as the source is not damaged.
Maya was the only fifth level ascended in this world and she has taken over 100 years to reach this level. Even with her questionable behavior and morals, Seth had to admit she was a monster for being able to proceed so far with no knowledge to guide her. She was not the lead teacher for no reason.
Maya’s face went through a lot of different expressions, but seeing that Seth was not saying anything else, she ended up getting frustrated as she asked: “How do I know you’re not messing with me?”
“I can help you break through tonight. With all those years of accumulation, your energy level has long been enough. You’re just missing finding the right way to break the shell.”
Maya still doubted everything, but this was like someone was offering her heaven in one go. Biting her lip, she asked: “How much?”. She knew he would probably rip her dry and she would have no choice but to accept it.
“Ten over 90% purity vials per month for, let’s say,… five years.”
“90%? Those are valued at 50 gold per vial. For five years, that means 30 000 gold worth of vials. Do you think I own the kingdom’s treasury?”
“You know full well that’s a fair price and you have the gold to pay for it. Since I took advantage of you today, I’ll barter with you for a bit. How much are you willing to pay?”
“Five vials per month and three years.” Responded Maya while clenching her fists hard under the table. She still needed money to progress into the sixth shell, so she put on a low offer, hoping to meet him in the middle at about seven vials or even eight in four years.
“Deal.” Replied Seth with a smile. That was enough for a constant supply and he could always get more if he needed it. Also, helping her was helping himself.
“Huh?” exclaimed Maya with her mouth hanging, being caught completely off guard.
“I don’t plan on bleeding you of all your savings, but I have a condition to agree to this price.”
“Say it.”
“You can’t speak about this deal to others, what I’m about to teach you, or post it in the compendium. It would be best if you could hide your breakthrough as well. Non-negotiable.”
She nodded instantly but couldn’t abstain from asking: “But why?”
“I have my own plans, of course.”
Maya was a little flustered because this meant she won’t be able to brag in front of Iris, but the offer was still too good to pass.
“Let’s sit on the bed. I’ll explain the gas theory to you and guide you through the breakthrough.”
At first, Maya thought he might have other intentions, but seeing the serious look on his face, she nodded and joined him in sitting down on the bed.
Seth held nothing back and explained to her everything about the gaseous state of water straight from the world records. She had a lot of questions since there were a lot of points that went against some things she knew, so it took a lot longer than he originally estimated since he had to go back and correct those as well.
