Harem God?!
🕑 Added 2022-08-29 14:38:45 +0000 UTC“I did it.”
Seth’s chest heaved up and down as he knelt on the ground and let the dark red greatsword in his hand dissolve into nothingness. Raising his head, he fixed his eyes on the writing that had just appeared in the center of the great hall.
<Congratulations on clearing the top floor of the tower. >
<Proceed past the red door to collect your reward. >
A smile hang on the corner of his lips as he stood up with difficulty, a sense of excitement he has long forgotten blooming in his chest.
Stepping through the red door behind the text hanging in mid-air, he arrived in a new room. There was only a crystal sphere the size of his hand floating in the center of the room.
The sphere brightened slightly, and a mechanical voice resounded through the room.
“Congratulations on reaching the World Records Terminal. As promised, three wishes and one question are available for you to claim.”
Seth lay down on the ground, not minding his manners as he smiled at the sphere and said: “What is the purpose of this world?”
Once his question rang clear through the dark room, the sphere shook strongly and the same mechanical voice rang again.
“Which reward would you like to redeem first?”
Seth seemed undaunted at the voice’s obvious disregard for his question and asked again.
“Question: What is the purpose of this world?”
The sphere shook even harder, and its voice rang again.
“Which reward would you like to redeem first?”
Seth repeated the same question a few more times until a crack appeared on the surface of the sphere and its words finally changed.
“Prime directives in conflict. Removing confidential clauses to prevent further damage to the world records. Permodium, world simulation #401242. Created by the World Sovereign ~6 eons ago. Purpose: Breaking through the void barrier. Spirit essence availability: unlimited, energy concentration: abundant, Divine crowns claimed: 7.”
“Please state your first wish.”
Seth ignored the mechanical voice as he lay flat on the cold, flat floor, trying to process what the voice has just told him. He knew divinity couldn’t be the end. That’s why he, one of the seven divine beings, has risked his life in God’s Tower. The only place in all the worlds where one’s divinity would be powerless.
“Send me out of the simulation.”, said Seth next, stating his first wish.
“Wish exceeding World Records capabilities. Calculating Alternatives… alternative found: the destruction of fleshly body and evacuation through spirit veins into the outside universe’s spirit pool. Do you agree?”
“Will I keep my memories?” asked Seth, understanding what entering the spirit pool meant. His soul will be cleansed completely.
“Negative. The spirit pool in the outside universe is not under the records’ jurisdiction.”
“Figures.”, muttered Seth before falling silent again.
‘I’ve come so far, and it was all for nothing. Why did I even bother…’. His only goal, ever since he left home, was to reach the top. He trained, worked, fought, cheated, stole, murdered, and traveled for so long only to reach a dead end.
‘Well, no matter. I guess this is the end. Maybe I should have my soul sent to the spirit pool…’ as this thought passed through his mind, a cacophony of voices followed.
“Son, why did you have to leave us?”
“Seth, honey, are you alright?”
“Seth, wait one more year. We’ll both travel together after I graduate.”
“I love you, Seth. Please don’t leave. My people need you. I need you.”
“What are you shunning everyone? Why are you pushing all of us away? For what?”
…………
Now that he hit the strongest wall, he realized how many things he left behind in his quest.
He forgot what it was like to feel.
'I’ve left behind everyone that liked me, loved me, and cared for me, only to end up sitting down on a cold throne and receive an answer I didn’t want to hear. I even left my family behind...’
A single thought pushed him forward the entire way. Godhood.
As the cold, hard shell he built around his heart broke apart, Seth started craving for all the things he threw away.
‘Maybe I can still walk on another path. Maybe I can even break through this wall as well. As long as I’m not alone…’
Sitting back with renewed vigor, Seth said: “First wish, I want all the information inside the World Records.”
The sphere stayed silent for a moment before saying: “Our Sovereign created the World Records as a computerized bank of information because a soul, even one with a divinity such as yours, would get destroyed trying to process it. The bestowal of all information would lead to the soul’s destruction. Calculating alternatives… bestowing a stabilizing system with access to the World Records. Do you agree?”
“I agree.” Replied Seth almost immediately and a small light floated from the sphere and entered his soul.
Next, lines of tears appeared in his vision.
<Stabilizer online.>
<Link to World Records created successfully>
“Please state your second wish.”
‘How do I use this thing?’ Bram asked himself, and a new line of text appeared.
<Do you wish for a tutorial? >
‘Can you hear my thoughts?’
<Affirmative. Some functions are still being installed, but access to the World Records is available. >
‘Great. Show me a list of all the energies available.’
His vision became blurry with lines of text superimposing one another, almost making him throw up.
‘Cancel. Quick.’ Said Seth, not expecting such a result.
Once the lines of text disappeared, he asked: ‘Can I create more than one energy source?’
<Affirmative. One can hold multiple energy sources inside one’s body, but they must be compatible with one another. Also, the sources must be created simultaneously, or once a source takes form, it will repel the other energies from inside the body. >
‘Pretty much what I already knew. There’s no other way but to give up my destruction source. Well, that’s fine as well.’
Turning back towards the sphere in the center of the room, he said: “Second wish: full control over the form and structure of my physical body.”. A smirk appeared at the corner of his lips as he voiced his second wish.
“Ability to change records of your physical body granted. Functionality added to the system. Warning, drastic changes to the fundaments structure of the human body for prolonged periods can lead to soul damage. Do you wish to add soul control as well to remove this problem? This will use your remaining wish.”
“No. I have other plans for my last wish.”
“Acknowledged. Please state your last wish.”
‘System, the wishes granted by the records are absolute and won’t get canceled by space-time alterations, would they?’
<Affirmative.>
‘What about my memories? What would happen to them if I revert my time?’
<They will get deleted. You can store your memories inside my internal database and restore them all once time reverts. >
‘Great, do that. Also, save a backup of historical information partnering to my world from the World Records.’
It took a few minutes, but eventually, the message he was waiting for appeared in his vision.
<Memories and historical information saved. Pending restoration after the time jump. >
“Good. Third wish: Revert time to when I just turned fifteen.”
The sphere again fell silent for a while. Eventually, its voice sounded once more.
“Last wish accepted. Time reversal would affect the entire Permodium and will create a time anchor at the destination. Warning: Your memories and source of power will be lost. Divinity will be kept in a dormant state to facilitate the use of the system. The process begins in 3… 2… 1…”
…………….
A young boy was sitting in the snow on a small hill, looking at the stars above.
“After today, I can finally leave this place and register with the academy. I’ll finally start my journey to become a God.”, said the boy with a hand raised high like he was trying to grab the stars above. He knew nothing about gods besides what a traveling merchant once told the kids in the village, which was nothing more than a story for children.
That story sparkled a flame inside the boy’s heart that would have lasted him for eons to come and push him to claim one crown for himself.
A sudden headache came from nowhere and caused the boy’s expression to morph into one of pain. Eons of memories washed over his soul in a manner of seconds and almost broke it to pieces when a dark-red crown flashed inside his soul and stitched it back together. The boy couldn’t take it and soon passed out cold in the snow.
By the time he woke up, he was lying on a hard and itchy bed, covered by several layers of just as itchy blankets. The small candle placed on the table was lighting up the modest room he was in.
<Memory restoration complete. Access to the World Records is available. >
The boy stretched his body and stood up on his behind. Looking at his small hands covered in blisters, he smiled slightly and muttered under his breath: “It worked.”
‘System. Access the World Records and tell me what year it is.’
<Designated: Year 672, Age or the Ascended. >
The boy started laughing out loud, a feeling of anticipation he has long forgotten passing through his entire body.
The door to his room swung open and a middle-aged man carrying a small candle holder stepped inside. He fixed his angry dark-brown eyes on Seth.
“Why are you laughing like a lunatic in the middle of the night? Don’t you know your mother and I have work to do tomorrow morning?”
Seth looked at the man that just walked in and a feeling of nostalgia rose inside his chest. It’s been so long since he has last seen the face of his father. Even his enormous nose, which luckily he didn’t inherit, looked quite good to him now.
Sitting up from the bed, he walked up and surprised the angry man with a powerful hug.
“I’m sorry, father. I’ll stop making noise,”, said Seth, emotions he has long forgotten welling up inside his chest with tears also welling up at the corner of his eyes.
‘System, what is wrong with me?’
<Your emotions might be in disarray for a few days as the new soul gets used to all your memories. >
The man pushed Seth away and started walking back while muttering under his breath: “I must still be asleep or this brat has got even crazier.”
Not minding his father’s words, Seth closed the door behind him and sat back down on the bed.
‘System, is my source gone?’
<Affirmative. >
‘Please calculate my affinity for basic elemental energies.’
<Main destruction and secondary minor water. With the physical body alteration function and the host’s divinity, you can easily alter your affinities. >
‘Hehe, it worked. This time I won’t have to struggle like before and maybe even break that wall when I reach it. Show me a list with all the energies available and make sure you order them properly. I don’t feel like throwing up.’
Seth didn’t get an ounce of sleep the entire night, spending it browsing the list of energy types and choosing what sources he should create. His possibilities were endless, but the only problem was that his soul could only handle a maximum of six before falling apart.
Once the sun shone in his eyes through the small window of his room, he has already chosen six energy sources he aimed to create and changed his body accordingly.
He chose the four fundamental ones of space, time, creation, and destruction since they were the strongest right after chaos. He entertained the idea of choosing chaos as well, but the system informed him that to create a chaos source, he would have to give up on other sources, or the chaos one would absorb them after the last shell. Also, the world records only had a basic amount of information on chaos energy.
Already having spent one life blindly pressing forward in his quest to grow stronger, he gave up and just chose the other four.
The ones he was most excited about were the Perception source and the Lust source. He named the energies and sources himself since the World Records only had information about their uses, and these were the ones he would grow by interacting with the world around him.
Perception energy was an energy he found on the list that was quite similar to karma. It was generated by how other souls reacted to his actions. He found it appropriate since it would allow him to find out how his actions would influence other people and how he should behave around others.
As for Lust energy, it was an amalgamation of yin and yang energy, existing in perfect harmony and forming a source of their own. This was another essential source for his newly chosen path.
<Host, your choice of sources...>
‘What is it, system?’
<I don’t understand their purpose. There are no records of any other being having threaded this path before. >
‘I can imagine. This time my goal is the same, but my path to reach it will be different.’
<Can hold give me a basic description of the host’s goal so I can provide better help and suggestions? >
‘Haha, little system. In this life, I’m going to become a Harem God and rule over this entire world with my godly harem. I'll dethrone all the other gods and get those seats for my harem. When I sit upon that throne again and decide to push against that wall, I won’t be alone anymore.’
